    If you don’t want your guests to see you before the ceremony you’ll probably have to go earlier than 15 minutes prior. I went into a back room 30 minutes before our ceremony and there were still a couple of guests that caught a peek. Other than that I’d say walk it if the weather is nice.

    @Westwood:  I agree. I would not choose to walk to the church in case people see you. Walking to the reception is no problem though! 

    Hiring a limo seems silly but you could always drive there with a family member.

    Just because I’m worried about the hem of my dress, I’m getting hair and makeup done at our hotel, walking from our hotel to our venue (a block away) with my hair and makeup done but NOT in my dress yet, and getting dressed at the venue. Then after the wedding (ceremony and reception in same venue), I fully plan on walking the one block to the hotel in my fancy duds, it would be such an epic waste of money to rent a car to walk literally a block. Even if it’s raining, I’ll get somebody to drive me…or run in the rain, the day’s over anyway!!!
