It’s such a neat idea! My sister has it on her wall but I want to see it on other people’s walls. The photos online for these websites/vendors looks so photoshopped.
Also, was it difficult to apply and does it leave any residue when its removed?

@mnp: I have one that says “may all that enter as guests leave as friends” or something like that above the coat rack in our entryway. It was easy to put on, but I can’t speak to taking it off yet. I had to realign it so it was even a few times and that wasn’t a problem.
My friend has a ton of them and loves them, she hasn’t had a problem removing them. Sorry I don’t have a pic.

@mchitt329: This is good to know! Thank you!

Not sure if you can really see it in this picture but it’s the only picture I have as we had to take it down (it was partially covered by our new head board).
I’ve used them quite a bit as I have lived in quite a few apartments. I bought one off of amazon that was extremely difficult to remove. All the rest (from Michaels and Kohl’s) have been easy to remove and don’t leave any kind of marks or residue.

@mnp: I had them in college but I’m kind of over them at this point and not really a fan anymore so I don’t have any pictures. They’re super easy to apply but, if you leave them up for a long time (mine were up for 2 years) you can see a bit of it still when you take it off.

I don’t have pictures of mine right now but I had some from Kohl’s that were coffee cups and they were easy to apply and easy to remove but they did leave a mark once they were removed. It didn’t seem like any sort of residue, I could just see where they had been once I removed them.
I got some other ones that were large squares and they were very easy to apply, remove, and left no trace.

I got mine from whatisblik.com.
They’re bird silhouettes meant to look like part of a field guide. This photo was from Dec 2011 and I was taking a picture of the Christmas gifts; the decals are behind the mini tree. The walls are “Raisin” color (the camera didn’t catch it accurately). I put the decals up in 2009, they’re still hanging on, I haven’t tried removing them yet.

I used some to create a faux backsplash (we rent and didn’t want to spend a lot of money). They’re Jonathan Adler, I think I bought them off Joss & Main for like $20.
They were super easy to put up – this took me about 30 minutes or so!

I just put one up last weekend over the crib in our nursey. I got it custom designed by Single Stone Studio on Etsy. Sorry the pic isn’t great. It’s a small room and it was hard to get a good shot.
It says “and I think to myself….what a wonderful world”. DH and I have a special connection to that song, and it was our first dance at our wedding. Our nursery is nature themed, so I thought it fit. The word “wonderful” shows up a lot better in person.
It went on SUPER easy! It came with paper on both sides. Once I had it placed and stuck up with painters tape, I peeled away the back later and used a credit card to smooth the decal onto the wall. Once it was stuck on, I slowly pulled off the front layer, and it was perfect!

I have some in my bedroom. We put them up and about 6 months later we had to move so I stripped em off with no residue left behind! I put them on the paper it came on and reapplied them at our new place! They all went on perfectly except for one that kinda lifts on the edge but it’s barely noticeable! I got mine at target for under 20! The fact that they actually worked after I moved them was pretty impressive to me lol
