Well...I kinda have to finish it first. Mmmkay, so, I'm writing a story, well, book sort-of, and since I know I probably wont get it published, I want to find a website where I can post chapters, or sections, weekly(or whenever I choose), so that the public can read it. BUT, it also has to be where no one can steal it...and free of charge to use?? :) (I know, I know, Beggers, Choosers.. I get it.) Does anyone know where I can find a place like this?

There's always FictionPress! Though from what I hear, Fictionaut is supposed to be a nice(r) site. ETA: Darn it, Fictionaut is still "invite only." You can sign up to request an invitation, though.

As to people stealing your stories, that shouldn't be a problem. You can use poor man's copyright by emailing your work to yourself, so even if someone does decide to take it, you can have dates on your work.

Thanks! Yeah, I just checkout out Fictionaut. Requesting to be a member is like going in for a job interview! lol. :)

I used to read fictionpress back in the day- good fun.  It was easy enough to use, and despite the fact that a lot of the stories were bad, there were a ton of gems if you were willing to look.  Plagiarism was a problem, but usually those people were caught and the mods would take it down.  One thing you need to realize though is most publishers want first printing rights (can't remember the real name).  So that means if you publish online, you're basically giving up any hope of ever having it published in print.  Which for me was fine, I was just doing it for fun, and I liked the comments I got from readers and I never intended to send it out to publishers...
