Build a pack n play together. I’m serious. We were both fit to be tied last night, lol.
First, we spent 5 minutes bitching Graco out behind their backs for not providing instructions for such a complicated piece of equipment…obviously we failed to flip the mattress over as that’s where Graco stuck the instructions. SMH. So we sat there going back and forth over which You Tube tutorial video was better.
Second, the instructions we found online (because, remember, in our world, Graco didn’t provide instructions lol) said to make sure you lock the sides before pushing the middle of the crib down. Well, it was already pushed down! We just thought it pushed down more, we didn’t understand. At one point DH had his leg slung over the crib and was pressing his foot in the middle of the pack n play to get leverage to pull up the sides. I’m yelling, “Don’t break the crib! You’re foot is going to go through the bottom!” “OMG, Megz, I am not even close to breaking this thing. I am barely putting any pressure on the bottom of it!”
Third, DH had such a hard time putting on the fabric for the cuddle cove. Why? He failed to listen to me the first two times when I told him to unsnap the buttons, lol. I told him, “I hope you don’t plan to try to shove the baby through the neck of his onsie. That’s why there are buttons on those too.” I got a less than stellar facial expression…
In addition to that, he was going to take the straps off. I said, “You can’t do that.” He said, “Why not? They are in the way of everything.” I said, “Because that is what holds the baby in.” He says, “How in the heck is that going to hold him in??” I had to then explain that the crotch of the baby fits there and then the straps come around his middle.
His response? “Ohhhhh, I see now!”
So, in the end, we are still married, didn’t kill each other, and it only took us 10 minutes to quit huffing over the damn pack n play to go back into the nursery and admire it together like swooning first time parents should.
Without further ado…the piece of equipment that almost ruined our marriage:
After we got it together we realized how easy it seems, but we are still too scared to take it down, lol. I know after a few practice runs we will be pros at this thing. Such an AWESOME crib. We can’t wait to put little man in it.
*By the way, my marriage was never in any danger. We get along very well and have great communication. A hormonal pregnant woman and a tired hubby just don’t work as well together after 8pm, lol.
