Hi bees I just need to vent.

I want to have the wedding of my dreams but on a buget. I found a venue and a dress that I love but when it comes to finding a photogher to capture my big day i cant find one who can do it for my price. I understand that it is expencive but im broke I am normaly a tom boy but when it comes to my wedding I want to be girly and pretty and have good things. I want quality photographs. Im just so frustrated. I just need someone to capture this day and not have to leave an arm and leg for the deposit. I really dont need prints or an album just give me the cd/dvd and i will take care of the rest.

Every things with weddings are so expence. We are paying for our whole wedding ourselfs because my mom is going to be forced to retire this year because of teacher cut backs.  I dont know what to do anymore. I am just so tired of worring about the money to enjoy my wedding day. I am just so tired and am ready to say screw it and have some one snap pictures and just go and get married tomorrow. I knew all this wedding planing would me stressful but never to the point i feel like pulling my hair out. And the wedding is not untill november. O and not to mention the flowers. Ahhhhhhhh Im just so tired. Is anyone in the same boat?

I'm with ya. Worrying about money surrounds my wedding! And we are even getting a lot of help. Have a friend do pictures or just ask for a CD of the pictures instead of a book. Don't feel bad... I've been pulling hair out since April!

Breathe! It'll be okay. I know it's cliche, but everything will work itself out. Our wedding photographer was our friend. He is an amazing photographer. Guess how he got his businses off the grond? He put himself on Craigslist and offered up his services for FREE. Soooo hit up your local Craigslist and see if you can find a wedding photographer who is talented but needs to build their portfolio before they can start charging an arm and a leg! This is a bit risky, but the risky may pay off.

It is very stressful. Id say just take a breather and calm down. I thought id never find a photog in my price range. And i researched my ass off. It took a while but i eventually found one. I also found that doing things yourself saves a lottttt of money. Are you DIY anything?? Just try to calm yourself a bit and relax. Im sure you will still have the wedding of your dreams:)

Are you anywhere near a college or university? There are some VERY talented photographers lurking in art departments, just waiting for a chance to build up a professional portfolio! They're a lot cheaper than a "real" professional because they NEED you and you're sort of doing them a favor... but that doesn't mean you'll be sacrificing quality. You could help them rent the fancy equipment if they don't own it, and let them go to town.

Call a member of the art department faculty and see if he/she can recommend an outstanding student. Just don't schedule your wedding for the weekend of finals :o)

I posted an ad on craigslist asking for a photographer and I received 25 responses!!!!!!! Many people are able and willing to give up a day to take photos. I found a girl who is just starting out her business to take our photos she will be around for the whole day for $300 dollars. Craigslist is good for more than finding prostitutes...who knew?

Have you thought about reallocating other parts of your budget so you can get the photographer you want? It definitely sucks trying to budget when everything is so expensive, but it will all work out and in the end, you have an amazing FI that wants to marry you!

    - check if you have a weddingful.com for your area. great discounts on everything for wedding (it's like groupon)

-Contact a photography school, hire final year students who need to build their portfolios.

(Still do your research for a photographer!)

-Ask a few semi-talented family and friends with good cameras to capture the day. Hope for the best.

    :)
