So my next depo shot is due on the 28th of this month, and the DH and I decided we want to TTC but after doing research we found out it’d take roughly a year to actually have hope…any words of encougagement from my fellow bees?
Edit: I Forgot to add in that I’m not going to go for the next shot lol

It can take a long time for cycles to get back on track after Depo, but it doesn’t always take that long. Hopefully you’ll be one of the quick ones! Good luck!

I’ve been told similar things about all birth controls really. It really depends on your body – I have one friend that took 2 years to get pregnant but a LOT more of my friends got pregnant within the first 3-6 months. Timing (ovulation cycle) can be a big help too!

To be honest it depends on how long it takes you to ovulate again after coming off it. I bled for nearly 2 months with barely any breaks (exhausting btw) but once I got a normal period, I started tracking my cycle and started a saliva ovulation kit to check for ovulation, and although my cycles have been between 24 days and 30 days over the last 6 months it does appear I am back to ovulating and my period seems “normal” pre-BC now.
We have been TTC for 4 months and no luck so far! Thou I still have fingers crossed for this cycle as I am 2 days late (woo) but still not showing anything on HPTs except an over active imagination seeing things hehehe.
i hope all goes well for you! If you read all the stories -which I worked thru in detail after I came off depo – about a quarter of stories were from women that got pregnant either by getting the shot late or within a month or 2 of stopping. I seem to find really only the negative stories get posted thou because we all need to vent somewhere 🙂 Anyway hope you’re a success story 🙂

Does going on BCP helps regulate? I forgot where I heard that from but I’m curious about it, before I toomarabout 2 shots it took almost 10 months to get my cycle back Hmm so much to think about

@MrsSWB: I had read that somewhere too, but when speaking to another lady on here (another Aussie I believe) she said he Dr would not allow her to go back on BCP to help control until she had had a normal period – it may just depend on the Dr.

after 2 depo injections i stopped having periods, didnt have the 2rd injection (as like you i was htinking of ttc before a year was out) and it took over 6 months for them to come back
after that we used condoms until we were ready to ttc to get all chemicals out of my system
