Hopefully this is a lesson to you to NEVER EVER pay for goods purchased online via check. Use PayPal. If you don’t have a debit card, but a pre paid one or link your checking account to your PayPal. I hate to say it, but I doubt she will send your goods or refund your money,.

That sucks, but I agree with @mixtapehearts – never trust ANYONE on the internet.

I’m sorry dear, I hate unhonest people. I hope this is your first and last incident of someone being shady online 🙁 Live and learn, we’ve all had those moments!

I am sorry this is so frustrating.  I am not sure however that slandering her online is the answer  I don’t know what I right answer is, especially since you do not yet KNOW for a fact that what she told you is not true.  I can tell you that about two months ago I had a bee (who has since been banned) sending me hateful and derogatory private messages.  I was SO tempted to show everyone the type of person she was.  I didn’t because it was something that should be handled by the moderation team not me making sure everyone knew.

@MrsFuzzyFace:  There is no risk of being accused of slander, because slander only applies to the spoken word. Libel applies when things are  in writing.

@BitsyBella:You have nothing to worry about if what you are saying is true. The laws around defamation only apply to intentional false communication.
