I am hesitant to ever write poor reviews about folks online, but this was just terrible and I have to warn other people not to bother!

I emailed Nico Event Design back on August 18th to get a quote on florals/rental lounge furniture/decor. It's a long, involved story (and I have the emails/phone records to back it up) but pretty much I spoke to them on the phone once to express my ideas, was told I'd get a proposal in a week, and I still have heard NOTHING!

They ignore my emails, returned a phone call or two to say that 'the proposal will be sent this afternoon' then nothing ever happens. It was a headache and a half and I can't believe they'd just lie to me then proceed to ignore me.

As all of us know, wedding planning is practically a full-time job! I can't stand it when people waste my time and/or lie me. If you're looking for a smooth transaction, I'd definitely avoid these folks - they seem unprofessional for sure.

Sidenote: I have received a few wonderful proposals from folks in the SB area who responded quickly and were lovely to talk with! Will write detailed review of the folks we decide to book.

I hate to say this - but I went through the same hassle (sounds incredibly similiar!!) with them this past year.   I had my heart set on using them and finally (after weeks of follow up) got them to follow through.  I had my wedding recently and my flowers were gorgeous, BUT there were problems.  The flowers used were NOT what I was quoted (some I specifically did not want used WERE, the main flowers I wanted WERE NOT).  Delivery & setup was late.  Like I said, the flowers were still beautiful and my guests didn't notice anything was off (well, other than the guests that showed up early and were worried about the ceremony not being setup in time).  BUT, it was not exactly what was quoted out to me and I was diappointed.  

I hope you don't have any more stress with vendor selection!  I had some great ones in Santa Barbara - if you want referrals just let me know.  There are alot of very talented professionals in SB  and I'm sure you'll find them!

I also had issues with Nico Designs. I called repeatedly to get my quote and was told several times I would get it by the end of the day or the next day. After a few weeks I just stopped calling and never got any email or phone call from them. I am sure his work is great but his customer service is horrible.

I ended up going with Gelsons (Yes! Gelsons the grocery store) and was sooo happy with how everything turned out.

Sorry - have been crazy with the holidays and haven't been on Weddinbee lately! But, ugh, I'm so sorry you guys had problems too! That's really too bad you didn't get the flowers you wanted, what a bummer.

We met with Laura from Passion Flowers and she was amazing!!! We're definitely booking with her and looking forward to her ideas. As a sidenote, she was totally reasonable in terms of price which is a big plus.

And I would never have thought to check with Gelson's! What a great idea. Thanks for your feedback, everyone!
