Oh my, you sound even worse than me (and trust me, I’m paranoid).

You’re not pregnant. The chances that you are are micoscopic. The pill is 99% effective if you use it properly. Condoms are also very effective if you use them properly. You doubled up. There are women on here desperate to get pregnant who have sex during ovulation (pill stops ovulation) and still don’t get pregnant. It’s not as easy as you’d think to get pregnant.

You’re stressed out. And the pill does weird stuff to your body sometimes.

Pregnancy tests are very accurate… and it’s not like you tested before your missed period.

I get it… I’ve taken pregnancy tests before out of worry (I’m on the pill but don’t use condoms on top)… trust me, you’re not pregnant!

if you are using bcp AND condoms then the chance you’re pregnant is negligible. the stress has probably delayed your period/ you’re not hugely late right now and sometimes a day or two off happens

my period was nearly 2 weeks late in may for absolutely no reason! it happens!

@CanadianBride456:  Your stress and anxiety are much more likely to be the cause of the delayed period than a pregnancy! I know I’ve gone WAY late when I’m particularly stressed. If you’re on BCP you might skip this month altogether. Test again in a few days, but I really really doubt you’re pregnant. Either method alone leaves you very little change of getting knocked up, both together??? You’re fine.

This happens to me all the time when I’m stressed. I am also on the pill. When I first started it, I would get my period on Wednesday. Now about 4 years later, every time I get stressed right before it is supposed to come, it comes on Thursday. Every time it doesn’t show on Wednesday, I always start to worry that I’m pregnant even though we pretty much use condoms every time.   I am still in college and during finals week, I didn’t get my period until Friday.

I hope that this just happens to you because of stress. I know I am the exact same way with the pregnancy tests when it doesn’t show on Wednesday. I hope this helps you.

@CanadianBride456:  I would take a test, but it’s most likely stress. If I’m stressing for more than about 2 hours one day of the month, I can expect my period to be early/late. It’s very common!

ETA: I just saw that you took a test.

@CanadianBride456:  I used to do the same thing, now we just use condumns because of my problems with BC, but when I got stressed my period could be up to 5 days late! The first time it happened I panicked and now I know it will happen during finals week so don’t stress. Generally the more I stressed about it the longer it took to come (or at least it felt that way)

@CanadianBride456:  I agree with PP. Stress and medication can delay both ovulation and your menstural period.  With being on the pill AND using condoms, AND getting a negative pregnancy test I would say its safe to say you are not pregnant.  Wait a couple days and I’m sure AF will arrive.

@CanadianBride456:  whenever I get stressed guaranteed I’m going to be late.  I went 42 days when I lost my job.  Seems anything will mess me up.  I’m late again now actually but I’m not too worried.  I usually take a test after a week as it should show up by then if you’re pregnant.  Mostly just to put my mind at ease.  I’ve been late 4 times in the past year due to stress.

I agree with others. You’re not pregnant, but there are a lot of factors in your life that are throwing things off.

My sister takes a test every month just to calm herself down a little!

But the more you fear pregnancy, the later your period winds uo being. True fact! Every time!

I have ALWAYS gotten my period like clockwork. ALWAYS!! Until last year when I didn’t get it for an entire month…got it in February and didn’t see it again until April.  No birth control, no crazy life changes, no weight loss, no nothing… it just went on hiatus…no rhyme or reason.  It’s been normal since and I still don’t know why that happened but it did.  I took 2 tests a week every week until it came.  Even scheduled a dr. appointment thinking the tests (yes all of them ) were inaccurate.  These things happen and based on your level of birth control I would not worry, I do not think you are pregnant.

You sound like me. When SO and I started dating, we had only engaged in oral/manual sex. My period was very regular and I hadn’t missed one in years. Well, it came a few days late and in that span of time I had convinced myself that it was somehow possible I had gotten pregnant. (LOL I know right? I kept thinking, What kind of immaculate conception bullshit is this?) And this is coming from someone who teaches human sexuality. It’s so easy to lose your head.

Like others have said – you’re fine. 😉

I don’t think you are pregnant. Tests can detect very early pregnancy now and you used TWO methods of birth control, which is more than 99% effective.

My period used to be very irregular and it drove me crazy. I was once two weeks late and I nearly had a heart attack because my husband and I are childfree.
