A girlfriend of mine was told it was a girl all through her pregnancy, imagine her surprise when she gave birth to a boy. Two showers and the room all decorated, LOL. We all chipped in and helped her husband get the room changed and everything we could exchange changed, man it was a mess.
Oh boy, literally!
Well it hink that is super special and a story for the records ;)
Congratulations on your new baby gender lol
Wow, congrats!
I was just talking to a co-worker, and apparently something really similar happened to his wife. They were told it was a girl at their 20 week scan, and then found out the baby is actually a boy at a later scan at 8 months. Crazy!
I have a friend at work that it hashapped to too! That is why when we had our scan, i was worried, because we were told its a girl - at week 20. We had another ultra sound at week 35 and we were told its a girl for sure, i will be very suprised if it is not :) as everything is pink and purple in our house!
Wow! Sounds like you were hoping for a boy anyways so that's great news!!
This happened to a lady at our church when I was a teenager.
She had two boys, and she desperately wanted a girl. She was so excited to find out at 20 weeks that she was finally getting her little girl. Of course, my dad had to pick on her and say "You should be careful, I've heard they can get it wrong. You might have another boy!" She laughed and said, oh that won't happen.
About three weeks before she gave birth, she marched up to my dad at church, pointed to her stomach and yelled "YOU DID THIS!" We were all shocked because hello that's quite an accusation! Come to find out that yes, they did have it wrong and she was having another boy. She blamed my dad and was saying that he jinxed her!
Developmentally every baby starts out as a girl. So, it is very easy to get it wrong if the boy parts haven't started developing when they tell you the sex.
WOW! Congratulations, I'm glad you didnt buy anything!
My coworker said her friend thought girl throughout her whole pregnancy and had prepared the room and everything just like @tksjewelry's friend and then it was a boy! This is why I am so team green!
TRUE STORY!!
I had a coworker who had 4 boys. SHe wasn getting older (to be polite) and she and her husband decided they wanted to try again, one last time because they both REALLY wanted a girl. So she was thrilled, he was thrilled, our office was thrilled when we all found out she was having a girl. Much to her surpised a little boy popped out. Now I know child birth is a miracle and I will be over joyed with what ever child God decides to bless FI and I with, but if I'm being honest, I would have broken down in tears if I were her. I couldn't imagine the emotions.
Now if this we're my first child, I'd be even more thrilled because like OP my FI wants a boy SUPER badly. But he's just gonna have to wait until he becomes DH to see that day. :o)
That happened to me! At our one and only 19 week scan, we had a girl. I was in the ER with suspected gallbladder issues and they saw a boy at 26 weeks. I guess it happens often since the labia/scrotum look similar for the first half of a pregnancy.
We're on team green next one because it was hard on the head.
This happened to a friend, but in reverse!! She was told boy up until quite a ways into her pregnancy. The baby wouldn't cooperate in any ultrasounds. I can't remember exactly, but it was almost too late to find out for sure. I think it wasn't until somewhere around 30 weeks that she found out that the baby was definitely a girl! She had bought all this boy stuff, but was able to exchange most of it for girl stuff.
Seeing her go through that makes me determined to find out the gener for sure, but to keep it a secret and buy all gender neutral stuff!
My niece was thought to be a boy.. nope she is a girl.
I was worried about that with our son. But the tech double checked when we had our ultrasound and was definately a boy
Oh my! And I literally died laughing when I read that story about the lady marching up in church and saying "you did this." I want to be Team Green whenever we get preggo SO bad, but fear I won't get to have a themed shower!
A former co-worker of mine was told she was having a boy. Imagine the shock when she recently just gave birth to a girl!
@lawgirl12: I was Team Green and my theme was Duckies. :) Certainly didn't want it to be pink or blue.LOL

I was worried this would happen but so excited at the same time! at 16 weeks they said its a girl, now at 18 weeks it is definitely a BOY!! Now I don't have to worry about DH and him being dissapointed in a girl! Thankfully we did not buy any girl stuff! Has this happened to anybody else?
