We have selected a date and today I will be meeting with our chosen photographer at 1pm to put a deposit down. As long as he doesn’t turn out to be a serial killer who smells bad or something I will officially have a wedding date as of today.
September 21st, 2013 OMFG!
Was anyone else a little nervous to actually put a date and time to this thing? I’m super excited but it officially means you are spending the money, feeding the people, and putting together one of the largest parties you may ever throw. That is a lot of responsibility!
To combat my nervousness I thought I would show you ladies how the planning has gone thus far. Since photos tell a better story then I could, here is the beginning of my planning ….
This is our venue! The hay mow in the barn was removed, new concrete was poured and pine slats were added to the walls.
These are a couple of the dresses I have tried on so far but haven’t been 100% in love with yet.
Here are a few of the things I’ve purchased for the wedding as well 🙂 I seriously love some of this stuff!! The two trunks were owned by a distant family member of mine. She was a spy for the U.S. and took them around the world with her twice. I can’t wait to find an amazing use for them!
This is all probably way more then any of you cared to see but I finally feel like I’m making some progress! Now where do I go from here?! I think I might start in on some DIY’s soon enough.

Yes! I was so unsure of when to set a date and then was afraid to make it official…we’re 5 months out and I’m still nervous about making it happen! lol

@Jamcnair: Does that nervousness ever go away? It doesn’t seem like it.

Yep, I think I remember being a little nervous. But then I got busy with 100 other things! I think I was a little nervous around each wedding ‘milestone’ that involved others besides myself ( save the dates, ordering my wedding dress, booking people, next it will be sending out invites). Also, I love everything you’ve put together so far!

@auggiefrog: Thank you! It’s really fun to search for this stuff too.

I love looking at other’s wedding pics, progress, DIY. Since I am so obsessed with my own wedding, I love to see others ideas, etc.
You are doing great. I am about 6 months out and I am getting nervous. The day I booked the venue and handed over the deposit put me on cloud 9 but I was so nervous that it was finally official and we were going to actually get married.
I have been trying to do something pertaining to the wedding at least once a week… this week I did the love sign and the Just Married sign for the car. We have our 2nd registry this Saturday. And I have my bms meeting with the seamstress on Sunday.
But I am anxious to get some BIG and little things out of the way… most important vendors I am strssing over booking is the caterer and the officiant. Those are the only big vendors I have left and the hardest for me. Also would love to get my accessories out of the way (jewelry and shoes) and the Bridal Party gifts as well.

I was really nervous too! I still get the jitters sometimes when I think about it. Certainly not cold feet, its just exciting to have it all happening, and since I am the oldest child in our entire family cousins, friends, etc. I feel this huge responsibility to pull of the best wedding ever! haha
