my dress only exsisted in my mind. I am getting it made so it will be a dress I wanted….I will not say ALWAYS wanted because if I was getting married in 3 years I can guarntee my style would change….
I don’t have any pictures of dresses that I was looking at before I bought mine, but I was looking at dresses online. I was into the A-line or Empire dresses and wanted a corset back with a train with a beaded bodice.
I talked to my FI on what kind of a dress he’d like to see me in and he said he’d be happy with a dress as long as it had a train which I thought would be a wonderful addition to my overall dress look.
I tried some dresses on at a wedding expo and the first dress I tried on looked like a Greek Goddess dress it was very lovely. I tried on a few more dresses until I found a dress I just knew was mine! It was the forth dress I tried on, and immediately I had a little vision of me walking down the isle in the dress, and I got very giddy! A month later I bought the dress at the bridal store that was at the expo.
Since I knew this was my dress when I first put it on I haven’t been able to look at another wedding dress without thinking that the dress I chose is the dress for me. It is a beaded bodice, with train, corset bodice and it is just beautiful for me. ^_^
I always expected to buy an antique-like lace dress (ever since I saw the movie The Notebook & wanted the dress Allie tried on in the bridal shoppe) but when I tried on lace dresses they all made me look fat :/ they are too structured for me, I think.
I’m not getting an ivory flowy silk chiffon dress with lace and beading on the bust without a train.
I don’t know if it’s going to fit though, because I am waiting for it in the mail!
Will post pics when I get it! 🙂

To answer your question though, my dream dress is the dress I purchased. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it and no other dress compared – it was exactly what I would have designed for myself! Modern, but still very bridal looking, organza, fitted/drop waisted, lace up back, decent length train. Yeah, my dress is everything I wanted in my dream dress!
It was exactly what i wanted and dreamt of and more. Halfway though looking I gave up and started trying on different styles. And i loved them. But my dress was meant to be. I had doubts too… but when i got it back in my arms. Swooon
No, it wasn’t, because I’ve never had a dream dress, dream wedding, dream ring, dream husband… when I was a kid, I always imagined getting married, but I never daydreamed about what it would entail. Theoretically any dress could be my “dream dress” because I had never dreamed one up.
Never even tried it on. But I will always love this dress!
This is the dress. I tried it on and then tried several others, but came back to this one. I can’t wait until it’s here.
What I wanted (but wished there were straps):
Still love it.
What I ended up with:
Love it. Perfect for me.
My dress is NOT the one i dreamed about! haha I always had my eye on the “bernadette” by maggie sottero. Absolutley love that dress! but A bridal shop was closing down so i got my dress at a ridiculously low price, and it is beautiful. But i think it is normal to have 2nd thoughts. Just stop looking at other dresses! I swear! I looked on the internet for the first 6 months we were engaged (after already buying 2!) finally I just had to convince myself that I picked that dress for a reason!
