I don't have any. But both me & my sister was both said to be boys. My mamaw bought me a pink dress while my mom was pregnant saying I was a girl. No one believed her. Good thing she brought the dress to the hospital or I would have been wearing boy clothes in my hospital picture. haha
I remember my step dad & I going to walmart really fast to get my sister something cute to wear for her pictures because again, she was suppose to be a boy.
I dont have any children yet, but within the past year, TWO people on my Facebook were told boy and at later ultrasounds told girl!
I know a woman at work that was told a girl, she got a pink nursery ready, had everything all girl-ed out, and when the baby came out, the doctor yelled 'It's a BOY!" and she burst into tears. She said she never for a second considered the baby NOT being a girl, and for almost 9 months was expecting and planning for a girl and it took her a long time to get over that and accept that she had a boy. Thankfully she had a son already, so she had clothes at home for him. I think he had to sleep in a pink room for a while, though.
For that reason, I don't want to know! I want to be surprised. My mom didn't know what I was going to be, and she said that with her final push she thought, "This better be a girl because I am NOT doing this again!!", and there I was!
I'm going to my gender ultrasound with an open mind, Whichever gender they tell me, I will still keep and open mind and shop gender neutral. We also plan on keeping the gender between the two of us until the baby is born.
@sorrycharlie: Early scans can be inaccurate. But i've never heard (at least recently) of someone going throughout their pregnancy being told it was one gender and giving birth to another.
We did a gender scan at a baby fair when i was 15w1d and it was accurate. That said, my mother had been told I was a boy and my son's father's mom had been told he was a girl. Yes, technology has improved since then, but still :)
A good friend of mine was told without a doubt that her baby would be a girl. A huge baby shower of pink everything, and she even washed all of it before to make life easier ... it was a boy! I was there when she delievred and her room was complete with numerous "It's a Girl" balloons. Not including all the clothes she'd already washed!
Good thing she got to exchange some of the clothes from her registry, even though it was washed, they still accepted it. This was a 10 years ago, and she was a young Mom (in college).
I was very paranoid they'd be wrong, but thank goodness they were right! It was a girl, so we can use all that pink stuff we got!
The next one we're going team green so I won't have to be so paranoid that they got it wrong again. That's not why we're going team green, my husband wants to so I'm letting him have his way this time, but that's a perk.
My anatomy scan at 21 weeks said girl, and I have a girl, but I was paranoid about it my whole pregnancy. I had two ultrasounds after finding out the gender (including one at almost 41 wks), and both times I made the ultrasound tech confirm that she was still a girl.
Like I said in the spring babies thread, we have about 1-2 babies per year come through our NICU that were said to be one gender, and ended up being the other. I don't know the firm stats on it, because obviously I don't know the numbers of non-NICU babies that ended up being the wrong gender.
In one delivery where the baby was predicted to be the wrong gender, the dad got super pissed off, and started swearing, throwing stuff etc and had to be removed by security.
I've read that ultrasounds during the first trimester are only right half the time. after the first trimester they are more accurate.
I knew a girl who was told she's gonna have a girl...out came the baby and it was a boy...what a shocker. I'm sure he didn't like his pink flowery room.
i was counting down the days until my u/s to find out gender!!! and it was right. a boy! i think it is easier for them to mix up and think a girl is a girl when really a boy, because they might not see the penis. but not the other way around because if they see it there it has gotta be a boy...
I guy who I work with and his wife had a baby in May and were told the whole time it would be a girl (Lily!), but it turned out to be a boy (Matthew!). I didn't realize that kind of thing could happen, but apparently it's not uncommon--we decided to be on team green after hearing about it, just in case!
Man, I'm glad we're going with gender-neutral nursery colors (leaning toward turquoise and light green) even though we're going to find out the sex at our ultrasound. So at least the room will be ready if there's a mistake!
I think I'd have a hard time not knowing the sex of my first child - I just feel I'd want to be prepared....that being said, I'm a big fan of gender-neutral colors for baby accessories so that way future children have use for them...more cost effective! On a related note, I was supposed to be a boy..."Zachary." I was a girl. Shocking!

Just a spin off from another thread, but I was wondering for those of you who have already had your babies, how accurate was your scan? multiple answers allowed since some bees already have multiple kids!
