Our wedding was beyond my wildest expectations–so-much-so that after Darling Husband and I got back to our suite, I literally cried tears of joy. I just kept sobbing, “I know it’s cliché, but this was the best day of my life!” (besides the day our Dirty Delete was born, of course).

A few days before the wedding we had quite a few people e-mail/Facebook us, letting us know that despite RSVPing ‘yes’ only a few weeks before that they weren’t ultimately going to attend. We had a small guest-list to begin with (about 75 people), so I worried a lot about how hum-drum it was going to be, and that the place would look empty, etc… but that definitely wasn’t the case, at all. People mingled (my favourite was a 60-year-old couple getting really chummy with my 20-something friend and her date), it brought family back together (my Dad was estranged from my Uncle/Aunt, etc. after my grandparents’ deaths), and the dance floor was PACKED all night! People are still talking about how ‘epic’ the night was and how it’ll be ‘untoppable’, so I count it as a huge success! :]

It turned out even better! Even with all the things that didn’t work out the way they were supposed to.

Our wedding far exceeded any expectations I ever had. Our budget tripled so I’m sure that helped things quite a bit. It was an amazing day so full of love, fun and family and I have so many amazing memories with our two families. The colors, venue, flowers, food, my dress etc. all of it was perfect.

For the most part it was about equal to what I was expecting! I was less anxious than I thought I would be, which was so nice! But a few things did go wrong. My baby sister (who was also my flower girl) ended up getting sick and couldn’t go, so if I could change anything it would be that. Also I ended up not being able to wear my wedding heels because my feet were hurting so bad! Our wedding was in Vegas and we walked the strip a lot and my feet were swollen and injured by the time our day rolled around lol. Not a big deal though. I wore my mom’s flip flops and no one noticed! Besides that it was pretty much perfect for us. 🙂
