I would wash it the night before. It is best to have it unwashed on the day of.
I wash my hair every day too and couldn't imagine having "dirty" hair on my wedding day. I washed and straigthened it right before the hair stylist came. Then she curled it and put it in an updo lol
Yeah, dirty hair holds style better, but honey, that's why Goddess made hairspray! I'm washing mine in the AM when I shower. I don't want a stinky head on my wedding day.
Stylist usually want dirty hair for an updo...but that doesnt mean you cant wash it. I would sugguest you wash it that morning and use a light conditioner....If you use a heavy cream it will make your hair too soft to style.
Their are plenty of ways to dirty hair up. I have used the pow by big sexy hair its a volumizing powder that when put at the roots and it make the hair stand up a little bit. If they run this product or a product like it through your hair it will take the softness away without making your hair stink!
Hair spray is a good way to dirty hair too....but you wnat to use a flexiable hold spray. If you use a strong hold it will dry hard and your stylist will not be able to style it.
You should also talk to your stylist about your concerns she will be able to ease your mind and address the issue with clean or dirty hair!
Every stylist is different. I personally perfer dirty but my dirty is different from what others classify as dirty. I perfer them to wash it the day before and add product to it. Then not wash it that day.
i washed my hair when i did my hair trial and she did hairspray too but it only lasted 3 hours...is there anything i can do to make it last longer than that cus really that only gets me through my getting ready shots and party pics...
Just make sure it's totally dry by the time you are getting it fixed.
I washed mine the morning of and had a beautiful updo; my hair gets greasy pretty quickly, though, so if your hair tends to be a little less oily, wash it the night before. One less thing to worry about on the day of the wedding. ;)
I wouldn't wash it but if you feel like you need to do something with it, just condition it that morning. I have always done that before getting my hair done for prom and such but I also have naturally curly hair and only was it every 3 days or so...conditioner everyday.
It's easier to style if you've slept on it for a night. As long as you don't get super greasy hair in one night, I wouldn't wash it.
This coming from me though, I wash my hair every three or even four days :)
For my friend's wedding, the stylist asked us to not wash our hair the day of because "dirty hair" will hold style better. I washed my hair the night before but my curls still fell out after 2-3 hours. I just have super limp hair that doesn't want to hold a curl. So, I guess it just comes down to your hair texture.
I plan to splurge on extensions for my wedding day in hopes that will help my hair hold a style...
Wash, yes. Condition, no. To help your hair hold all day I definitely recommend you skip conditioner. Even if you feel like your hair will be a knotty mess. It will hold your style so much better.
A shower cap will be your best friend! Wash it the night before & use a shower cap on the morning of your wedding day so you can "body shower" without getting your hair wet. "Dirty" hair definitely holds curl wayyy better!
I'm washing my hair in the AM... it would be a greasy gross mess by afternoon (especially on the hair line) if I washed it the night before... I don't want that in my pictures or for all my guests to see. LOL. I think if your used to washing it everyday just wash it to feel comfortable... hair spray is magical... I washed mine, let it dry and curled it within an hour of washing it and it held the curl through 5 hours of epics on a breezy day... I still had curls when I woke up the next day!
Dry shampoo is your best friend!
I have very fine/thin hair that looks awful after I sleep on it, so I'll be using dry shampoo that morning to thicken my hair a bit, prevent it from getting greasy, and making it "dirtier" so it's easier to work with. I use dry shampoo normally anyway so I know it'll be the best thing to make my hair stylable.
Even if you were to wash your hair that morning, you could use the dry shampoo afterwards to make it "dirty"... and it smells very nice too.
I wouldnt wash it. I wouldnt even get it wet! Definitely use a shower cap. I got my hair wet the morning of and my hair didnt hold the whole night because the stylist said even wet hair is harder to stay. All of my girls washed their hair the morning of even though I told them not to and the stylist had a hard time working with their hair.
I'm planning to wash my hair early in the morning and blow dry. I'll get my hair done at 11 am. I know it's not ideal to have washed hair, but I feel so gross when I don't wash my hair!
I'm following my stylist's "dirty hair is better" advice. I don't pay her a lot of $$ for nothing. If that's what she wants, that is what she will get. Besides, as a curly haired lady, I only wash my hair once every 7-10 days with a super gentle shampoo. I use conditioner daily.
Technically you shouldn't wash your hair every day. That being said, as PP said it is better for styling to come with a least a day of unwashed hair. If you must "wash your hair every day", as another PP said try the dry shampoo.
I would wash it the evening before but not the morning of. As many of the PPs said, the slightly "dirty" hair will hold better.

I have to be ready for pictures at 4 pm, and have my hair appointment scheduled for 2 pm. Should I wash my hair that morning, or just leave it from the day before (will probably wash and straighten hair before rehearsal dinner the night before)? I've heard that your hair keeps the style better if it's unwashed...but I usually wash my hair every day! Oh, I'm doing a half-up/half-down curled style if that makes a difference.hair, style,
