@Sunshine23:  We have the samsung frontload washer and dryer and they’re still going strong after 2 years. So far so good!

They look something like this:

I love my Whirlpool duets.  Just got them in June.  I do have to say, don’t go with Lowes.  They are awful to residential customers.  We had techs out at our house three times, and had two washers go back to the store because they were installed wrong and started leaking.  Not the products fault, just stupid people.  They gave me 10% off my washer for the trouble, but barely gave me an appology.  It took about 8 hours of my Sunday and another two weekday nights before I had a working set.

@Sunshine23:  Oh girl, the very very best out there is the Whirlpool Duet. My mom and MIL both have Whirlpool Duets too. We LOVE ours, better than any of our past appliances. We bought them at the Sears Appliance Scratch and Dent for ~50% off, I would highly recommend that to save some money! They’re going to be hidden in your laundry room, so who cares if there is a small scratch, right?

@Misswhowedding:  OMG yes. We’ve had awful experience with both Lowes and Home Depot on appliances and all kinds of home projects. We ordered a refrigerator from Home Depot for our rental house, and they showed up 3 hours after the scheduled delivery. Then they said they didn’t have enough guys to carry it upstairs. So they had to come back the next day, and they scratched up all of the walls.

I should also mention, both of the washers that went back, went back because they installed them the same wrong way twice.  Beyond frustrating when tech two sees what tech one does wrong and does the same exact thing.  The third set of techs were just as upset about it as we where.

Another vote for Whirlpool Duet.  I really like all Whirlpool appliances – good value and great quality.

We have a Bosch Vision 500 EcoSmart washer and dryer. No complaints! 🙂

@pengoala:  We have the same washer and dryer, and I love them!  They’ve been great for us so far (3+ years) and I like the little song that plays after the cycle is done.

I wish I could tell you off the top of my head what kind of washer we have (DH has had it awhile) so you could stay away from it–it’s a front load washer that you have to drain quite often from a little spigot thing on the front. After having the laundry room flooded, I’m dreaming of the good old days with my top-loader…

Frigidaire Affinity. I bought mine from a local retailer so the service that came along with the machines (devlivery, set up, warranty) was fantastic. I love buying local for those reasons. I have had my frontload set for about 5 years now, and they have held up really well! My husband works on robots in a factory so they have been through some dirt and grime 🙂

@Mrs. Wallaby:

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but is that a sale at any Seaes or a sears outlet?
