Are you sure you will need to have your dress steamed the day of the wedding? I had mine steamed after it was altered and then just kept it hanging outside the bag until the day of the wedding.
well I guess what I meant was that I wanted to get it steamed after my alterations...but I didn't know where I could take it to get it steamed. Do you know of a good place?
There is a place called Hershey Cleaners in Gaithersburg, MD. My alterations lady recommended them. I had to have my sample dress cleaned and steamed before alterations and they did great work. I plan to take my veil there as well.
Will your alterations place steam it?
I had my alterations done at the bridal shop (Blush Bridal) (independent contractor), and, had I gotten married locally, they would have kept my dress and steamed it before my wedding.
I ended up taking it to a place I found on Yelp with good reviews (long distance wedding)-- it worked out fine. I took it at the beginning of the week and picked it up the day of my wedding. It can take a few days, so give some time.
