Did you find your dress for less than $500??! SHOW IT OFF!!! Where'd you get the dress? Are you an online dotcom dress success story or did you luck you on the special dress at a bridal salon? How much was it? I'd love to see...
My dress isn't complete yet.....and I just missed the cutoff mark as my dress cost $550. My dress is being custom made through a seamstress that I found online.
My dress was $399 at David's! Yay!!!! It was also on sale so it came out to about $50 less than that even! We were able to get my dress, undergarments (slip and corset bra), a garment bag, my veil AND my cake topper through them for $600.
Yes, it was. In fact, it was $350 and I bought at the Houston Brides Against Breast Cancer sale in 2009. Alterations (hem, shoulders, sides) set me back $100 at a local tailor.
yep, mine was 86 bucks!!! I may still shop around but I couldnt pass it up. I got it on super mega clearance (sorry for the huge picture)
I bought my dress at Younker's for $170, lol. Two weeks before the wedding...HUZZAH!

On the model, because I haven't done recaps from the reception day yet and don't want to spoil it. ;)
My dress was $350! I can't wait until it comes in so that I can show it off to you ladies!
Yep! My dress was $187! I had it custom made by an ebay seller in China. Here is the original dress & mine (the original had crystals all over and an open back & I wanted no crystals & a closed back, I just loved the silhouette.)
@YSQueen:I'm so glad you commented!! $550 is still a steal!!! Especially for something custom made. Did you design it or did you show your seamstress and inspiration from a designer?
@Running Elley:NO WAY!!!! That dress is gorgeous and kinda looks like the Essence of Australia gown I looked at. Of course the Essence gown was no where near $399. Fits you like a glove...doesn't look like you need any alterations! That's great!
@iswimibikeirun:WOW! I'm in Houston!!! Do they have that sale every year?
@panterapeach:The black and white is such drama and edge! And I don't blame you at $86. What are you wedding colors?
@Mrs Grape:You already know how much I loved your intimate wedding and dresses! Tee hee.
@RayRayFurious:I can't wait either at that price! Be sure to come back and post pics for us!
@AnnieAAA:WHAT???!!! I've been SWOONING over your complete wedding look (remember me from the boots and birdcage veil post?) I had NO IDEA that you'd gotten that dress online. What ebay seller was it? I looove online success stories. Reviews on buying dresses online are so up in the air!
Yes, they do have the sale each year. It's in the summer though, so since your wedding is in July, you might not have a chance to take advantage. That being said, I saw some great dresses at Marry-Go-Round when I shopped with my sister for her dress.
@katieebee: Thanks! I ordered it and I think when it comes in I'm going to have it taken in a little at the bottom of the mermaid-y part to make it just a little more pronounced around my hips but it really was almost perfect!
@AnnieAAA: LOVE your dress
@katieebee: Haha! Yes! Thanks!! His name is Jeff Liu from Aprils Bridal. I actually first heard of this seller when I read Bridal Bargains, and then did ALOT of reserach on him before I decided to get my dress made (also many bees have had their dresses made from him too!) all had positive reviews!
The original St. Pucci gown was $7000!! The original was silk & mine was taffetta, but he NAILED the shape and style of the dress, which is what I fell in love with the most.
And at $187 you can't beat it!!
If you want more details you can PM me and I'll share all my recommendations on working with him :)
@Running Elley: Thanks!!
Yes! I found it at Nordstrom Rack for $129. :)
It was everything I said I didn't want in a dress. Long and ivory! We're getting married at the courthouse in January and I thought I wanted short and sassy. I tried on a bunch of what I thought I wanted and realized that my vision just wasn't working...lol. I tried this one on and it felt right the second I zipped it up. Simple. Simple. Simple. Just like our wedding! :)
I bought it in November and haven't even thought of it until last night when I pulled it out of the closet, exactly one month before our wedding and realized...as I had guessed...that I've packed on some holiday pounds! It still zips, but I can't breathe...is breathing really that important? ;) Great motivator to get my butt in gear and workout everyday. Going to Hong Kong next week, I'm doomed with all of the yummy food. :(
mine was the J Crew Sabine, brand new with tags from oncewed.com for $350.
Mine was a $99 DB. Even after the alterations, I was well under $500.
I can't figure out why I can't post photos from the wedding.
Mine was $500, discounted from about $950 since it had just been discontinued and I bought the store sample! Alterations shouldn't be much, and I was just so excited to get it at almost half off!
Mine was $76. It is a sample dress from ebay. Pics: http://genevieveswedding.blogspot.com/2009/12/dress_07.html
I bought the sample of my dress at 50% off! Ended up being around $350. My veil actually cost more than the dress! Don't have pics at work, but it's my avatar. :)
Well, two weeks after I placed the order, the store called to tell me the vendor (Emerald) closed its doors without any notice. They sold me the sample for 50% off...so it came to $500. Thank goodness it was my size and color choice. They even threw in FREE alterations. I totally saved!!!!
Woah! I wish my dress was under 500. It end up being 4k. But it was THE dress.
@goldelox84: Awwww...thank you so much! :) If it only fit like it did six weeks ago, I'd be set...lol.
My dress was originally $1100 and marked-down to $400! I was super stoked!!!

My dress is under $500! :) it is actually only $343. I love it. I got lucky at a bridal salon in Orlando, Fl on black friday weekend and got 50% off anddd another 20% for it being a sample dress!

@future.mrs.schechter: I think your dress is great! LOVE the lace!
My dress was $250 at the Filene's Basement sale this past July in Washington, DC. It's an Angelina Bridal Couture dress, and the sale tag said it retailed at "over $1500," so even at the low end I got a great deal! My alterations will be about $200, so even with that thrown it, plus my veil ($26) I come in under $500. I don't have a picture of me in it, and haven't been able to find any online pictures of the dress either.
Mine was $179 DB online style that I ordered just to try, then fell in love with it!
Mine was supposed to be about $500 from J. Crew, but they had a coupon code I used online and got it for $350!! :) 100% silk. It's luxurious!
Mine was $479, it was 20% off because the bridal salon was having a trunk sale on the brand the weekend I went there.

Craigslist find! I am superstitious about the FI somehow seeing it, so not posting pics, but it is a modified version of casablanca 1827 (has a square neck and added capsleeves). Was $425 and the only alterations it will need is probably taking in some at the waste.
Each of our dresses (bought at a consignment store) was $450. Mine (on the left) was a David's Bridal 5268. NotFroofy's was an Emme (now Da Vinci) Bridal.
