My SO and I will have been dating about 3 months by Christmas. I’m really struggling with what to get him for a gift. I asked him but of course he says all I want is you (cute! but not helpful! lol). He’s really into technology (he’s a computer engineer) so he seems to have everything tech wise that he wants. He hasn’t mentioned needing anything recently (plus he would probably just buy it for himself if he wanted something). I’ve thought about buying us dance lessons because he’s mentioned wanting to take salsa lessons together but I think that is a better gift for Valentine’s day.
My mom suggested getting him a watch because he has one that he wears all the time (I don’t know what kind of watch it is but I assume its a nice one). Its all silver so we thought maybe buying him a nice watch but in a different style might be nice. I was thinking a brown leather watch so he would have something different. I was also thinking about having his initials engraved on the back of it (cheesey?).
Yesterday, however when I told my coworker about my idea he said that most guys who have a nice watch that they wear all the time don’t want or need another one. This really discouraged me! I thought I had figured it out and now I feel like my idea is no good again.
Can anyone tell me if this is true? Does your SO have more than one watch? Does he like having different styles or does he stick to strictly one watch and doesn’t see a purpose for another?
I just don’t want to get him a gift he won’t use or feel obligated to use. Thanks for your input!
