So the band that I’m pretty sure I’m going to book for my wedding reception only does one public show a month and it is in a nearby city (about an hour away). While emailing back and forth with the booking agent, he mentioned that they were playing a wedding this weekend in my city. What’s the protocol there? Is it ok to peek in or stand at the back for a few minutes at someone else’s (a complete stranger mind you) wedding reception? I really want to see this band in action but don’t want to be rude. Have any bees been in a similar situation?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What is the venue? If it is somewhere you could “innocently” be, like a public place (or something like a banquet hall at a public place) then you could probably take a peek without being an invader. If its a more private venue I say its a no-go. You probably wouldn’t like it if you had crashers testing out your vendors.

@MissWitty: +1. Consider yourself in the bride’s position – you definitely don’t want crashers on your big day!!

@tigergrrl2008: Dress in all black and pretend you’re part of the staff! Haha, just kidding (sort of) 🙂
I think if it’s the kind of place where you can stand outside the door and just listen for five or ten minutes, then it’s okay. But I wouldn’t stay more than a few minutes, because that would definitely get weird 🙂
