(Closed) water= bloat?

Probably because you drank it faster than your stomach could empty it.  Sip throughout the day and it should pass.

Try cutting back on salt and see if that helps.  Usually salt causes bloating more than water does.  Or try experimenting with teas, for example, green tea is a natural diruetic and lessens bloating.

@jouissance:  I think this might be it, I have the same issue. When I work out I gulp down water so fast and it makes me so bloated! I’ve also heard that when do that, you swallow too much air and it leads to bloat. Maybe sipping water more slowly may help.

In general, the more water you drink regularly, the less bloated you are. Your body retains water when it’s used to not getting quite enough. I’d keep drinking water and see if you start to feel better, but I also agree about cutting back on salt.

@MM423:  yeah i learned this the hard way- i gulped water in bikram yoga class and almost puked…better to sip slowly

@jouissance:  I try to remember not to do it but I end up gulping down water anyway if I’m really thirsty during a workout class…afterward my stomach looks like a beach ball! Plus, like you said, it can make you feel sick, too 🙁
