Has anyone had a wedding here recently or is anyone planning on getting married here? It’s my number one choice but the only posts I can seem to find are about construction. Any feedback on this place would be appreciated! Also, is July to warm for a wedding on the water?

@futuremrsgreenbean: i went to a wedding there a long time ago, pre construction, but when i started planning my own wedding i looked into them and only heard really bad things. they were mostly related to that construction, but honestly i think if you are looking for a reception hall type venue and are paying on the water prices, you should be able to see the water!
have you looked at anthony’s ocean view in new haven? ive been to 3 weddings there and they were all gorgeous (and a similar price point to water’s edge)

@bostongirl27: that’s a good receommendation thanks I’ll def check it out! we are from out of state so we really wanted to do a “destination wedding in CT” type thing, I like the resort/vacation feel of Water’s Edge ..

I heard some negative things about them after they started building the condos (I think it was condos) on the property. But I have heard wonderful things about Anthony’s Ocean View, which was mentioned above.

@futuremrsgreenbean: anthony’s is awesome because they have a back garden area for the reception and then it walks right out onto the beach. it would be great for a ceremony. they also have a great area for the BP to hang/get ready (i was a BM in my brother’s wedding there) and the food has been AMAZING every time ive been there.
i would have considered getting married there but my connection to CT is the other side of the state and it was a bit too pricey for us 🙁
FWIW, water’s edge could be amazing to work with, i just heard bad things.
