Someone I know recently got married there but I wasn’t at the wedding so I can’t speak directly to  your questions regarding the actual venue. I can say that it looked nice from the pictures that I have seen. As for temperature, July can be pretty hot but it tends to be breezier by the shore so it could be okay.

I was in a wedding there last fall.  The place is beautiful, but I did hear about a lot of brides being screwed by the construction.  The food was good, the scenery is beautiful, and the patio is a great place for post wedding drinks with friends.  The cons, imo, were that its very expensive to stay there which can be a burden on your guests.  Also, the coordinator disappeared for about an hour during the wedding, turns out she was running a rehearsal for another wedding.  Weddings of close friends are always special, so I don’t mean to detract, but I just dont think the overall event lived up to what they spent.  Have you looked at Mystic Seaport?  G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. and the catering and wedding coordinator have a fantastic reputation.  I worked with her just on a quote and she stood out as the best among about 50 places I have contacted.

They are terrible to deal with.  It was my number one choice since before we had even gotten engaged, but it did not live up to the expectations.  Terrible service, tons of up-charges, multiple weddings a day, very cookie cutter.  We had a date on hold for a week and in that week they ended up giving it away and I could not be happier!!!  I’d say keep looking!!!
