Pretty dress...how come Christina Hendricks had it on? I know it's not the dress she wore for her wedding.
Isn't this a really curvy girl? It doesn't look bad on her which makes me think it would probably be forgiving on someone with hips. Also I think the rouching/gathering is usually flattering on problem areas.
Yeah, really "curvy" for Hollywood, which I think means like 40-30-38 or something. She is like a size 8. She is not a stick figure, but she is perfectly proportioned and gorgeous.
I love Christina Hendricks. Paving the way for girls with curves, old-school style. She is gorgeous!
I didn't mean "really curvy" in a bad way at all...Although I would've pegged her to be bigger than a size 8, maybe at least a size 12. It could be that she just has a ginormous chest which is what I usually see in photos (and she sure plays them up), and my mental image of her is not accurate.
Ahhh! This is my dress! I'm so excited to see anyone even asking about it...
It's supposed to be fitted around the hips (modified A-line, I believe it's called), but for my dress they were pretty generous with the fabric in that area. I was afraid that the dress would be too small (I was getting different measurements at home than what the girl at the salon got), but my dress actually needs to be taken in like, 5 inches or something huge at the hips.
It's definitely not a clingy, revealing kind of dress - there's a lot of draping that kind of obscures the body past the top of the butt. I think it's very flattering for someone concerned about their lower half... And it seems like your seamstress can affect how tight it is anyways.
I don't have any pictures that I can give since it's with the seamstress, but Brides.com has a view from behind, maybe you've seen it already:
I had not seen that, thanks so much! Oh I love it so much. Would you mind if I messaged you with some more questions? Thanks!

Has anyone tried on the Monclova? I love it, and it makes me happy that it looks good on Joan from Mad Men, but I want to know how tight it is in the booty area. I need more of an a-line, and it looks like it may be a little tight on one side due to the gathering. I can't find any stores in the area that have one in stock, and I can't find good booty or back pics anywhere online.
