I think that it would be very difficult if not impossible to move flowers up from the bottom without leaving marks. My suggestion would be to ask the customer service rep if you can include a measurement from hip to hem to make it more likely that it will start at the correct part on you.
I wore the Watters Torreon and ordered in in the hollow to hem. But, for the opposite reason - I am tall. Based on how the dress fits on the model on their website, the flowers sit quite a bit below the hip bone. Are you talking about the few petals that are kind of in a straight vertical line?
The flowers give A LOT of flexibility with the dress! I moved some around and ordered extra from Watters to create other things as well. It doesn't leave any marks when you remove or add them. The dress made in such a quality way that all the stitches are really easy to remove. Your seamstress should be familiar with the Watters line and it shouldn't be a problem.
As far as the color is concerned, I didn't see the white either but I really loved the ivory/eggshell combo. The satin is an ivory that has zero yellow tone to it so it was really flattering on my skin. I'm really pale. The lace is a true ivory and it's pretty light. I think the white would look great on someone who is tan or of a darker complexion. Check out the Watters website and click on "Real Weddings" at the bottom. Scroll to the bride "Fay". She is wearing the Torreon and it looks like it is in the white/white combo.
It's a really beautiful dress and I loved it! :)
I ordered this dress hem to hollow (I'm 5'4" and the seamtress told me there was no way she would cut off the bottom of the dress and pull it off perfectly), needless to say, I was not as excited when I tried it on. I tried to figure out why I wasn't as giddy as I was when I tried on the sample for the first time. A few days later, it finally clicked in my head.. It was the bodice that seemed so short because of flower overload..Watters added on extra flowers (for reasons unknown to me) versus the sample dress, so I looked like a midget. I had the seamtress remove the extra flowers and some more, I'm not placing these flowers anywhere else on the dress, still have no idea what I'll do with them. There were no holes but there were indent marks where the flowers used to be, seamtress said all that would go away when the dress is steamed. She said that it would be too hard on the dress to steam it now and again before the wedding.
I love the dress, it's amazing.. I have pictures of me in my eggshell dress, prior to the removal of the extra flowers.. Msg me for the link.
I ordered the watters Torrean dress in white and it is horrible. I only saw the eggshell and loved that but ordered the white since I am olive skinned toned. Well the dress came in and the flowers do not match the dress like they do in the eggshell. The white is 2 toned and the eggshell is monocromatic. I asked to have my dress sent back to watters and have the eggshell sent to me. Watters is refusing to do this and are telling me that I am stuck with this dress. Ahhh I am freaking out. Does anyone have a picture of the white that they can send me. I am thinking that they messed up on the dress. I have seen other white Torrean ans they do not look like this. Even on the website it looks all white. Please help!

@kpace I was just looking at this on the website. It says that the flower applique is available in either white or ivory. If you didn't specify maybe the dress shop just ordered it with ivory.. or if you did specify maybe they messed up.. I would think it is the dress shops mistake more than Watters. Maybe you should speak with them or ask to see the order.
Hmm that is interesting. The dress shop has been so rude and unhelpful. On the website when they say the the flower comes in white or ivory, do you think they are refering to the flowers on the dress or the flower in the girls hair? That would make sense though because basically I have a white dress with ivory flowers all over it. I have been searching and searching the web to find a White Torrean to compair my dress to. This way I can see if this is a mistake or this is how the white Torrean just looks.
I love this dress and always wanted to look at it but now i'm having second thoughts. It sounds like they give you more problems then its worth. Good luck ladies...
I ordered the Torrean wedding dress in white and color looks fine. My issue with the dress is it seems like the lace is too stiff. The dress has no flow to it. Also, it has been really hard to put a bustle on it since the lace is so stiff. has anyone else had this problem? If anyone has any pictures of how the dress looked on them will you please email them to me. The dress just doesn't look like right on me....it would be good to see how the dress is meant to look on a real person. Also, I did the hollow to hem because I am short and I'm really glad that I did. It would have been impossible to hem that dress!
I also have ordered the Watters Torrean dress in white on white. And I agree with kpace that it is horrible!!! The 2 whites are 2 different whites. It ruins the whole dress!!! The only bridal store in the entire state that carried the sample of this Torrean dress was in eggshell color and they didn't even have swatches for the white. But the bridal salon assured me it will be all white!! Now they say this is the white on white. I think someone messed up. Either the bridal store or Watters but customer service has been so horrible and no one is helping me out. I have to have a completely white dress for I am having a very traditional wedding and not to mention I come from a very conservative family that any other color than white is unacceptable. The Watters website shows 2 pics that are one of the eggshell color and one of white color. But the actual white dress you get is NOT as pictured. I think its Watters responsibility to deliver what they are selling!!!
Are any of you selling this dress? I am in love with it and have looked everywhere.... either color works :)

Hello All,
I'm having a very hard time deciding whether to buy the Eggshell satin or White satin... When I tried the Eggshell on I thought it was too dark for my taste (it's more beige than ivory) but I think the White would be too light (wasn't able to try the White on though). Has anyone seen or worn the Torrean who can post any pictures to help me decide?
Also, did anyone buy this dress as a hollow-to-hem and can share whether the flower petals started where they should have (right at the hip bone)? I'm very petite, but the customer service rep warned me that they can't guarantee that all the elements of the dress will be proportional to my small body -- the hollow-to-hem only guarantees the length of the dress. I'm afraid that the flowers will start lower than it should on me. If they do start lower, I'm also wondering if it's possible for my seamstress to take off some of the flowers from the bottom and sew them on top to "move" the flowers up, and take the flowers off without leaving marks where they used to be.
Sorry for the many questions... But any help/advice would be appreciated :) Thank you all!!
