I've been a lurker for the last couple months and as FI and I approach one year before the big day, I figured I should go ahead and introduce myself. :) I'm not even sure this is the right board because I am 29 now, but will be 30 before the big day? ::shrug::
My name is Patricia, and we've been engaged since Christmas 2010 after almost 4 years of dating. We met online years ago and we were friends for many years before we realized that there could be something more. I moved in to his home in early November.
He proposed in the most romantic location - on the Eiffel Tower! But...he forgot the ring back home. We were having dinner there that night during our vacation in Paris. It was a complete shocker when he popped the question and I wasn't at all prepared. If you ask him, he will tell you that I sat in shock and giggled nervously for almost five minutes before I answered. -_-

We started planning almost immediately when we returned. He's been very involved, and I left the catering choices to him (we're foodies, but he's even more so). And even though we live in Austin, we chose NYC as our location because, well, why not? I'm still a new Austinite so my friends have to fly anyway, and most of his family is in New Jersey. It just worked out.
At this point, we already have our planner, caterer, venue, photographer, and floral designer, and we're still over a year away from the big day! It's nice to not be stressing over these major details but the wedding is SO far away!
Venue! It'll be a relatively small wedding at about 60 guests.
I can't wait to get to know you guys and see and hear of the gorgeous details of your big day, and maybe even share some DIY tips and such!
