Brows- thread, upper lip- Nair for face, chin- pluck as needed, armpits- shave, arms- Nair, happy trail- pluck, down below- shave, legs- shave.  I wish I wasn’t so darn hairy!

I shave everything. every one in a while ill pull out my tweezers and clean up my eyebrows, but they arent really noticeable if i dont do it regularily. Fi actually prefers my “unkept” brows…

After years of waxing my Brazilian and underarms and shaving my legs I started IPL about 7 months ago and I LOVE the results I think it’s so worth the high cost. Just look for packages it’s the cheapest route.

As far as pain I’ve been to 3 places, 2 were great and I barely felt any pain, the other girl was a sadist who burned me constantly and showed no remorse lol just find a place with experience and CERTIFICATIONS.

As far as results… a-ma-zing!!! I have almost no regrowth on my underarms after 8 sessions and a tiiiiiny bit in certain areas on my Brazilian also after 8 sessions. My legs still have growth as I’ve only done two sessions but I’ve already noticed it’s slowed down.

Your hair and skin colour have an effect on the effectiveness of the treatments. I have very corse, dark hair and lightish olive skin when it’s not tanned so it works extremely well on me  because of the contrast between my skin/hair the light picks up the hair very easily. I had a really dark tan this summer and it still worked fine.If you have very fair skin and very light hair or dark skin with dark hair it doesn’t work as well because the light doesn’t find the hair as easily. That said, it will still work but will probably take longer.

I thread my eyebrows and wax my lip (or thread when I can deal with the pain) I’m going to start IPL ASAP for my lip.

I work at a laser center and have had my underarms done. It’s amazing!

As far as IPL goes, please dont waste your time or money. Make the extra investment for actual laser.

IPL Is like a shotgun- maybe it hits something, maybe it doesn’t.

Laser is like a sniper rifle- it will hit exactly what it’s supposed to hit.

Normally shave my legs but I get them waxed before a beach vacation. I wax, shave and laser my underarms (all at home). I shave and wax my bikini myself but I had my first Brazilian for my wedding. Oh my goodness.. quite the experience.

@s2bmrscook: That’s interesting, I had no idea I thought IPL and laser were the same. The place I go uses the Sprano machine, do you know what type that is?

@PinkStripes:  I believe that’s a Diode laser, which is like a step in between IPL and laser. Ice never used a Diode laser before, but I believe they only have a single wavelength. Our machine is a dual-wavelength so we can safely and effectively treat all skin types and tanned skin.

@s2bmrscook:  yeah? I’ve been wanting to get laser hair removal but didn’t want to spend $$ just to end up shaving… I think I’ll look into to it though 🙂

legs, armpits, beard peach fuzz (I’m a hairy beast) – shave

mustache, eyebrows – pluck

I’m currently doing laser hair removal on my underarms and I LOVE it!

Eventually I would like to do my lower legs and possibly arms.  I was considering doing brazilian laser hair removal but after reading an excerpt from ‘The Body Book’, I decided against it:

“I hear that there’s a big fad these days of young women undergoing laser hair removal on all of their lady bits,” Diaz writes, calling laser hair removal a “crazy idea” because it lasts “forever.”

Diaz also likens pubic hair removal to a fad like skinny jeans or the ones that laced up the front and were popular circa 2002: “I know you may think you’ll be wearing the same style of shoes forever and the same style of jeans forever, but you won’t,” she writes. “The idea that vaginas are preferable in a hairless state is a pretty recent phenomenon, and all fads change, people.”

Diaz concludes her section on pubic hair with the exact same metaphor that my eighth grade sex-ed teacher used about virginity: ”Twenty years from now, you will still want to be presenting it to someone special, and it would be nice to let him or her unwrap it like the gift that it is.”

I shave my legs, underarms, and bikini area. I don’t mess with eyebrows or other areas.

I’m interested in laser hair removal for underarms but I saw someone’s scars from a removal-gone-wrong and it freaked me out. My hair’s pretty light anyway so eh.

I did a bikini wax once once but never went back because it really hurt and I thought it was more of a hassle to actually go somewhere every few weeks instead of a quick shave every few days. I think if I did it again it would hurt less because I know what to expect and would have it the correct length. I’m sure I’ll try it again someday. If it’s a beach vacation maybe I’ll try legs too.

I wax everything off.Eeeeeeeverything lol.The only body hair that don’t get waxed off are forearms hair.I have thin, light hair on my arms,so it doesn’t bother me too much.Everything else get waxed off.I can’t shave, can’t deal with the regrowth,it’s itchy and it comes out after less than a day!

@BluebonnetBride:  Oh my! Laser hair removal should NEVER EVER result in scarring! I can’t even think of how that could happen!
