I too am an encore bride and I have a 2 year old son from a previous marriage. I really wish I'd known about this site when I first started planning this thing! Anyway, no regrets...I would really like some unique ways to include him in the ceremony. He is going to be my ringbearer but we would like to include him in the vows and and unity candle ceremony. Also, any other little touches would be appreciated. Some of my friends think I shouldn't include him so much because the wedding day is about the bride and groom but he's a part of me, therefore I want to include him. His name is Sam btw Smile Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Now you can see why I want to include him! lol

I am including my 2 year old son too! He is going to be a groomsman actually! :) Could he help you light the unity candle? Like hold onto yours or something? In your vows your FI could say something to the affect of: I take you *name* and Sam to be my family... And you could say: Sam and I take you *name* to be our father and husband... Or something like that! :)

I heard of people doing sand ceremonies to include children. Everyone could have a different color sand.

There is also a family medallion you both could present him with (make him feel really special).

Btw,he's so cute I wish I could hug him!  What an adorable lil' dude!  Of course I see why you want him front and center too!

Thanks for the compliments ladies! Girls (young and old) flock to him lol We decided to do the unity candle and Sam will help us with the candles. We had thought about doing the sand ceremony but as clumsy as we are, it would be a total mess! lol My fiance would like to present him with something during the exchanging of the vows...Sam really likes my engagement ring so we thought maybe a littel wedding band for him of some kind of medallion we could put on a chain (maybe even engraved dogtags?) If anyone else has any ideas, I'd appreciate it!
