I’m feeling extra anxiety here lately, since I found the one thing I was NOT supposed to find (the ring). I figured it would be nice to compile a list of ways us ladies paitently, and painfully, in waiting could keep in mind when we feel we’re about to lose it!
There are the obvious:
- We’re lucky we have amazing met that we want to spend a lifetime with.
- Good things come to those who wait.
- E-rings aren’t cheap.
But, lets be honest, those things are nearly impossible to keep in mind when some of us have been waiting as long as we have. Soooo, lets start compiling the best things for us to keep in mind when we feel like we’re about to fall off the edge…
as I, admitedly, am currently feeling.

I keep my mind off it by setting unrelated goals for myself (learning a particular piano piece, signing up to run a race, etc). I know that my personality tends to obsess about things, so if I give myself an alternative obsession then I’m all set.

@KatM: I need to pick up this habit. I’m certainly an obsesser, so I think I should channel all of this in to something else… hmmm!

I’m buying yarn. For every time that I use self-control, and don’t ask a question about the M word, or the E word, I get to buy $30 worth of really nice high quality yarn.
I figure if nothing else, I’m going to have some awesome shawls and scarves at the end of this.
