I know a few bees didn't want romantic books but I thought you would still make it an option. :(

And what about Wicked.  I was interested in that one, too.

Oh, I would prefer to 2 check ins.

I foound "Three Cups of Tea" really hard to read. It's a good story, but there are too many paragraphs that ramble on about things...

Water for Elephants" was really good. and so was "The Secret Life of Bees"

@yrret107 - i tried to include books that were suggested at least twice. & the previous two books were romantic and i think everyone wanted a change. Sorry!!

@bridegrl - ive heard the same thing about three cups of tea & i dont know how excited i would be to read that one. i dont really want a heavy read..but its all up to the votes!

OH, & i also think 2 check ins would be better. That gives everyone time to purchase the book, read half, & hopefully get into it enough to discuss it.

    Anyone else? agree? disagree?

I'd love to join in! I've been told how great 3 cups of tea is and it's on my list to read, but I'm good with anything. A good reason for me to get back to my reading habit!

I never realized there was a Wedding Bee Book Club!  I would really like to join in too!  Is there somewhere where general info is posted about the general rules, etc?

Welcome to the book club ladies!! :)

I dont think there were ever any rules. We just have a new book every month & a new moderater for each book. At the end of the month, the new moderator will open a post for suggestions, then a post for a voting poll, & then a post to establish our reading pattern and discussion date. After that, we'll check in and discuss the book :)

    Glad youre all joining!!

Is it bad to say that I will be in based on the book? I already read some of them.  But I would love to participate if it's a book I haven't read.

So surprised to hear mixed reviews of "Three Cups of Tea"!  I've read it a few times and loved it each time - and it was on the NYT bestseller list for 3 years...

+1 for including an option with the word "bees" in the title! :-)

I think I may have to sit this one out...I just got the details on what my final exam paper/presentation for school entails.  No fun reading this month!

I have never ventured into the weddingbee book club but I think I might join up this month! I really miss reading for fun! Random question... do you guys usually buy the book every month or rent it from the library? I haven't gotten something from the library in forever but I'm not sure a book/month is in the wedding-tight budget! heh.

edit: I'm an idiot. I just clicked the link and saw the book was like $7. lol. I assumed the books would be 20-30 each. :)

@corgitales - i think it just depends. i would definitely check your local library. & if you want your own, barnes and noble sells used books online. ive bought several and theyve always been in great condition. & if you buy online right now, everyone gets member prices on new books.

I try to borrow from the library but sometimes there are so many people requesting it that it could take a few weeks.

My backup would be to buy from amazon.com.  They have a marketplace to sell new and used books.  I just looked and you could buy this book used for $0.49 and plus shipping which is $3.99 and now you just bought this book for 4.50 ish.

    I love amazon!
