Good luck with him! Labs are notorious chewers and are crazy until they hit the 2 year mark. So fun, but so crazy, too, haha.
Awww - so cute! I'm so glad you were able to find another furry companion :-) My sister has two female black labs, and they are so sweet!
Awwww so cute!!! Congratulations!!!!! The new addition to your family will be just perfect :) I found having a kitten in the house after Smee passed made me feel a lot better. I still miss him a lot, but I get warm and fuzzy when Glory wants to snuggle or when she does something like Smee would do :)

In case you've never had a lab - be forwarned - they love to chew and can destroy toys like nobody's business! Our 2 year old lab mix is still hyper crazy and can be hard to find toys for that last longer than a day or two (she's got a decent collection now but that came through a lot of trial and error - lol). Labs are such great dogs though!

No his eyes aren't blue they are light brown but for some reason his pupils reflect blue in the camera and his brothers don't.
We do know that labs are chewers and we got some great toy suggestions from the rescue - antler ears are awesome and he loves them. As well as we have a St. Bernard in the family who literally destroys toys in milliseconds so we know the best toys to buy!
@bakerella: Ya I miss Cody immensely but it will be nice to have a canine friend around the house again.

Post lots of updates! I want to live vicariously through you guys. I wish we were able to get a dog, but it just wouldn't be fair in our apartment.

EDITED to say: I lost my pal Bailey a year and a half ago and when I think of her, I still get teary. She was my best friend through some very tough times so I can imagine what it was like to loose Cody. I'm sorry for your loss, but I think that it's great that you're opening your heart to a new friend. :)

Aww so adorable! Congratulations. It's hard to fill the void after the loss of four legged best friend, but Maverick will bring new fun and a brightness to your home. Train early and often! Labs (and most dogs!) are such sponges when they're young, and they just want to please you!

omg! I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved pet, that is SO difficult. On the up turn I'm so happy to hear about your new addition and am very happy to hear you decided to rescue. Your new pup is ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!! yay for puppies! :)

Some of you may remember that I lost my canine best friend of 15 years, Cody, in early december.
The house just hasn't been the same without a canine companion and so today we fell in love with our new family member.
His name is Maverick, he is 3 months old and he is a black lab mix rescue from NOLA. We are so excited to bring him home on Wednesday!
