That is a BIG Step.

My “this is real” moment would have to be WHEN we finally found the ERing.

I am one of those Bees who was what is fondly called “unofficially engaged” for a period time… in so much as I am an old-fashioned gal, and didn’t consider it to be TRUE… until there was a ring on the finger !!

Mr TTR proposed in April on Vacation (sans ring) … and we went Ring Shopping together as per my request when we had exchanged Updated LIFE PLANS & TIMELINES… but it took us a whole 6 weeks to find THE RING.  (Lol, doesn’t help that I was an Encore, or that I have very Unique Tastes).  I’m telling you I went thru a real rollercoaster of emotions in that timeframe.

There was a definite sense of relief & jubulation when we finally found THE ONE.

Hi @Soon2BD-CBee:  Lol, because you asked:

Photo take the day we picked her up at the Jewellers.

Not terribly unusual… and inline with today’s trend towards rings with a feature diamond & other smaller stones.

But still a style that is not something seen often (I honestly haven’t seen another like it)

As an Encore, “of a certain age” it works for me… it reflects a bit of the sytle of the time of my First Marriage (wide band) and this time as well (mutiple stones, WGold).

Lol, and it a lot more “ring” than I had the first time round for sure when My Ex & I were broke fresh faced Uni Grads…

I also like it, because a good lot of my BFFs are ladies who have been married 20, 25, 30, 35 even 40 Years… and over the years they’ve added riings to their original “tiny” sets… they have Anniversary Bands – Eternity Bands – Past Present & Future Rings – and some even have Rings that have been passed down to them by their Mothers or Grandmothers who have passed… so I have GFs who have a whole lot of sparkle going on on their hands.

Something I came to realize in my empty post Divorce stage that wouldn’t ever be happening for me.  There would be no 25th Anniversary & beyond to celebrate in such a way.

My ERing, therefore helped a bit with my need to continue to fit in with those ladies after my Divorce.  My Divorce was really awful, and altho they were all great to me, I just didn’t feel the same anymore.  I felt like I was sort of the odd-man out when we’d all be hanging out together, and they still had they long time relationships and all the trimmings (ok, call me jealous… but it is fact, Divorce brings a HUGE sense of monetary / material loss to many woman).

Anyhow my Rings, and the wonderfulness of my man, makes me fit back in comfortably.  I must give most of the credit to Mr TTR because (a) he is that kind of man… rock steady (b) he makes our relationship feel easy, like a best loved pair of slippers, many people meeting us for the first time, because of our ages, think we’ve been married for decades… and (c) he figured out what I needed when it came to the ERing… and indulged me.

I am truly blessed !!
