- Wedding: August 2015
Hi bees- so this is the first real wedding-related decision I’ve been able to make thus far, after saying yes of course! I am a wedding planner myself, but all of my experience is in Florida, so after some intense Buffalo, NY research and some recon by my lovely sisters and mother, I have chosen a venue! We will be getting married in East Aurora, NY at The Knox Estate on Knox Farms State Park! It’s a gorgeous restored estate on an incredible piece of land halfway (15 min) from my parent’s house and my fiance’s mother’s house. It’s so perfect for what we’re wanting- an outdoor ceremony and reception with the estate as a getting ready space/backup rain plan with lots of interest and nature. See below:
The only catch is- we haven’t set the date yet! My fiance is in the marines, and will be deploying starting sometime next year. We will find out come February when he will be deploying (we’re expecting late fall). At that point we will be able to set a date, and book vendors, etc. Right now, we have August 1st of 2015 reserved and will be able to move the date with the venue with no penalties to another open date. However, all of July is already booked, and June is starting to fill up. I am definitely aware that we may be unable to find another 2015 date that works for us and is still available in February so, right now I’m on my toes waiting for the deployment schedule to be released, otherwise we will have to push our wedding back an entire year. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, but I know we will be able to make it work no matter the date! Anyone else in a similar situation? I want to hear your stories! Fingers crossed for August 1st!
