I decided it was too hard to plan a destination wedding ( that was also probably going to be more expensive than a weding here!) and said eff it! We are staying here! Haha I think our family and friends will be relieved…
Anyone else switch from Destination Wedding to hometown weddingr? What made you change your mind?

@Boxerlover24: We totally did this. We were convinced we were going to do a destination wedding…until we realized it would just be logistically easier to stay close to home. I thought it was just us! 😛

We wanted to do a destination wedding in Hawaii, my parents checked it out and weren’t impressed. Too windy and expensive, also hard to plan. Checked out venues in my hometown and were immediately sold on one, so we booked that 🙂

@Boxerlover24: Just did!
We ran into some pretty weird financial situations… we’re okay to get by just us, but wedding expenses were getting a little high. My parents were more open to helping us pay for some things (mostly catering… big one) if we had our wedding here because they would be saving money by not paying for themselves as well as my brother and his Fiance to fly.
We had many things booked and ready to go and I was disappointed, but there were so many signs that maybe this wasn’t what we needed to do (two of FI’s uncles that we really wanted to be there lost jobs, Fiance had to get a new car just now because his car crapped out, etc).
And now I’m less stressed… the wedding overseas was originally planned to avoid family drama, but now it doesn’t seem as necessary. I was sad initially, but I’m relieved now.

🙂 glad I’m not alone!! People say its less expensive, which we thought it would be but it really wasnt (and that was asfter wacking 100 people off the guest list!)
I think if I had enough money for wedding planner I may have stuck with it, but this wasnt the case
Yay for all of us being less stressed 🙂
