We just did ours the other day too! I was kind of dreading shopping with my FI – not that he’s bad about shopping, but “window shopping” isn’t really his thing, and I figured we were bound to do some of that.

It went really well, actually. We’re older and have been on our own for a while and I didn’t think we needed much, but after I went through and looked at 10 yrs of wear and tear on our things…. there’s a lot we can upgrade.

We didn’t leave enough time and we’ll have to go back, but the people at BB&B were super nice (if a little disorganized right when we got to our appointment). FI seemed to have a really good time – I turned him loose on the soda makers. We registered for a fondue pot (I know… but I had to..). The only down side was that we’re planning on doing some remodeling and redecorating in the next few years, and we haven’t worked out the exact plan… so that makes it hard to register for bath coordinates, etc.

I’m not wild about the everyday dish pattern FI likes. I’m hoping we can find something we both like at Crate & Barrel this weekend.. but I can live with the one that’s sitting in our BB&B registry.

We did ours last month at Macy’s. We’ve only doing one, for the shower and for people who like buying gifts. Around here people give more cash gifts.

My FI was okay with the process but was mostly bored. He doesn’t give a rat’s behind about china patterns and so on. He picked out a few things he likes – beer mugs, etc.

My fiance dreaded the registry process.  He hates shopping, and the thought of shopping without really buying anything was horrifying to him haha!

I was going to do my registry with my FI 2 weeks ago and we decided on our way there just to look around. We thought it was too early… but since all you ladies did it I don’t feel so bad about doing it now! Were both very very excited! We’ll have to wait till November though… he only has off Sundays and Octobers full of Halloween events every Saturday and Sunday for the next 4 weeks.

It’s actually pretty amazing how I think of things to add over the last few days – practical things, too – and it’s easy to pop online and add them. I think it’s more just a mindset.

Ours is online at http://www.MyRegistry.com so we’ve been gradually building it for awhile… my question is this: am I missing out by not registering in the store? Was it crazy fun? MyRegistry has a feature that lets you sync in-store registries with their site so I was thinking about going to Macy’s or Bloomingdale’s just so I could get the in-store experience and then I’d sync so that everything appears in one place….Thoughts?
