After a 2 month long process that included putting a full price offer in the middle of June to being told that the house we wanted would be going into foreclosure and then instead of helping the previous owners by selling before foreclosure the bank decided not to let that happen to us waiting another 3 weeks before the bank put it up for sale to putting our offer in again, but this time we had to up it $900 for the bank fees to being told the house was ours on July 23rd, then we had to wait another 3 weeks for the lender to send us a contract to sign, which we finally did on the 14th of August.  So hopefully we don't wait another 2 months to close.  Our lender is ready and has been ready, so he tells us that once they sign the contract then we should be able to close next month!!!  Here's hoping that is the case!! 

Oh good luck! I really hope they can get it all ready quickly for you! I thought the process of us getting to closing was stressful, but I'm realizing we really did do pretty well! Good for you for having patience! I would be a basket case if I were in your shoes.

Thank you mrstilly.....and believe me, it has been very hard to be patient!!  Home and termite inspection is Saturday......I think it is finally happening!!  I just can't wait to get in there and do some decorating!

Well, just when we think things are looking up, something else pops up.  Wouldn't you know that now we found termites during our home inspection.  They weren't there two weeks ago, but of course they are here now!!  I guess the good news is that the track was very visible in the house and it happened so that the inspector saw it, but not so much when it is a foreclosed house and guess who is responsible for treating it.....yes, that would be us!!!  We have 2 bids on treating them and one came in at $1190.00 and the other was $690.00.  How can there be such a huge difference???  Anyway we are going to submit it to the bank anyway, just to see if they will pay for it, if not we will have to come up with $700 more dollars to get into our house!!  At times I feel like we get 2 steps forward and then the next thing you know, we are 5 steps back!!  Let's hope that the appraiser doesn't find anything that needs to be fixed before we move in!!  Please cross your fingers and say a little prayer, because I don't know how much more I can take!!  Will keep everyone updated!!

That stinks! I hope that the bank will pick up the tab! At least it sounds like you caught it early and it can be successfully treated.

Well we FINALLY got some good news.....the bank is going to pay for the termite treatment!!!  The appraiser is supposed to be there today and hopefully in a couple of weeks it will be all ours!!!

So as of today we are looking at a closing date of Sept. 9th, which is a little over a week away!!!  It will be a great Birthday present to me!!!  I think I've finally picked some colors to paint and I'm ready to start painting.....

Just wanted to update everyone on our long process.  We finally closed on Friday!  We have the keys and have started the painting process!  But it was so worth it!  We are trying to get the painting done before we move in, in a couple of weeks.  We will be putting our house on the market this week or next, so keep good thoughts that it sells quickly:)
