…well, July has had its way with our family, and from now until the end of time, it shall be known as “2013: The Summer of Death”
I made a complete and total spectacle of myself yesterday afternoon, its rainy here, and Mr. 99 has a head cold of all things, so I decided to run to the store, grab a few things and make some chicken soup…..well, that was a mistake.
People who go to the store on Sunday obviously have no place better to be…and also no real awareness of people around them…so they just coast along, weaving across the aisle, leaning on their cart with their elbows, as if the very act of standing erect is too much effort, leaving the berieved woman behind you stuck, crying her eyes out because Elton John’s Club at The End of the Street is playing on the speakers and her Grandfather, who just died this morning, and her, used to say that’s where they’d meet on the other side…I JUST NEED SOME MUSHROOMS YOU SWEATPANTS WEARING SOW!!! MOOOOOVVVEE!
So yeah, I was THAT lady, no makeup, big sunglasses, tears running down my face and a cart full of ice cream, kleenex and the stuff to make chicken soup….
..is it over yet, cause we’re running out of people to loose here.

It’s okay to be THAT lady… I know I’ve been there before! I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you lots of love and prayers. 🙂

@Nona99: So sorry doll – that sounds horrific. I avoid the Groc Store on weekends just because of that crowd and their snot flinging mini-me’s.
Not sure if you’re up for a pity party but my g-pa went in for surgery for his lung on tues – I found out the day before about it – then three days later I find out (everyone was keeping it from me – because he raised me) that its because he has lung cancer. Sweet. Thanks guys. Blech.
I am with you on the ‘we can’t afford to lose anyone else…’ train…I am running out of room on my Happy memories area on my programs…
Hope you can use this week to heal – hopefully your fam will let you have a few days off?

@Nona99: I’m so very sorry about your grandfather 🙁 Everyone is “that” woman sometimes. Hell, when my *BFs* aunt died, I stood in the women’s bathroom at Red Lobster and bawled. I cried at the car dealership Saturday, too. It really is better to get it out and process it. Big ((hugs)) to you…

So sorry for your loss. 2004 was “that” year for my family. I definitely understand how you feel. We’ve all been that girl at some point! Hope you can take some time off to cope.

@badabing88: Thanks lady….I’m just tired of people asking me if I’m ok, telling me if I need anything….like…what? A pie? Some flip flops? What are you going to get me that I can’t get for myself?
They’re dead, I’m not….and Mr. 99, bless his heart is trying to be a supportive, caretaker and honestly its freaking me the hell out…I married the meanest man this side of the mason dixie line and that is how I like it…not some guy that keeps telling me he’s here for me…
I know….YOU LIVE HERE!!!!! Where the hell else would you be!?!?!?!?!?

@Nona99: I just lost my grandfather a few weeks ago too. I’m very sorry for your loss. It’s devastating.

@Nona99: This probably isn’t a technique a grief counselor would advise, but when my grandma died I found a *ton* of solice in food 😡 Eating like 4 BigMacs in a row was kind of a picker-upper for me. Pie actually wouldn’t hurt, in this case 🙂

@Nona99: LOL, I love your response to your husband. It is always troubling when they drastically change their behaviour. It’s like, have I really and completely lost it? Why are you being so nice? 😛
Seriously though, I am very sorry for your loss. Everyone has made a spectacle of themselves in public at least once. I really hope that with this awful summer (almost) behind you, that you have an amazing winter…you like winter better anyway 🙂

@badabing88: LOL, your therapy is McDonalds? Can you be my new doctor? 😀 I need a prescription for ice cream, stat.

I am so sorry – eat as much of that ice cream as you want, honey. *hugs*

@Nona99: My condolences, Nona! Aside from the saddness of losing so many loved ones this summer, your posts always make me chuckle. My personality closely matches yours and it makes me smile to see other people like that. Hehe.
