- Wedding: September 2010
My father loves taking pictures. He has his expensive camera with his expensive acessories and his expensive editing program. He LOVES his expensive photography equipment. So naturally whenever he received the wedding news he jumped at the chance to photograph it. Here’s the problem. My Dad is excellent at posed photos but whenever it comes to candid moments he just doesn’t have that skillset. So a couple of weeks ago we emailed a fellow friend of my FI who happened to be a marvelous photographer and after some major juggling on her part we were able to set a meeting up today. That meeting went great! We’re doing the first look(which she’s super excited about!), we’ve made sure her skills are put to good use and said absolutely NO posed photos. This includes family and the bride. In my opinion the family with the groom and bride portraits suck.(They’re sweet but miserable.) so she was completely fine not photographing them. My Dad however will. I’m so excited to have such a fabulous photographer so close to the wedding! Did anyone else hire last minute? Does anyone else feel the same about “posed family with the bride and groom” portraits?
