that's so exciting! you'll have to post pictures!
my fiance and I were originaly going to go to a baker and have them make cake, but to save money we decided I would make the cake and we would have multiple one tiers!
Oh girl, I change my mind all the time. Hell, I wasn't totally 100% sure of my venue until I just heard from my venue that they charged my credit card the non-refundable deposit. LOL

my cake's the only thing that i've been sure of from the start! i booked it within 2 weeks of our engagement and haven't looked back since.

That sounds really yummy. I can totally understand wanting a cake and cupcakes, or changing your mind -- either is really fun and such a symbolic part of the wedding day!
As an aside, I love basket weave frosting. =) It looks so pretty. And it'll go lovely with gerberas.

I went with my FMIL this morning to order the cake. The lady that is making it is a family friend and she has made the last two family wedding cakes. Two years ago, my fiance's aunt got married (which is kind of how I met him) and last December, my fiance's cousin got married.
Even before we got engaged I had cupcakes in mind with a small cake to cut into. So we talked about it and looked at lots and lots of pictures. In the end, we are going to have a 3 tier cake. We went simple with the flavors-bottome tier will be marble, 2nd tier will be white, and the top tier will be carrot cake (fiance's fav). It's also going to be a simple basket weave buttercream frosting and we are going to decorate the cake with gerba daisies. I'm looking for pictures of something similar and I'll post them if/when I find something. I'm glad it's done-one more thing off the list!
I can't even say what made me change my mind. Maybe all the pictures of actual cakes-she had very few pictures of cupcakes. I don't know, but I am happy with my choice. Anybody else change your mind at the last minute?
