Horay! I think your guests will be in party mode since it's New Years Eve so you will probably have a rockin' wedding!
Thanks!! That's what I am hoping too. We are party people which certainly doesn't hurt. ;)
& was thinking of an evening wedding, save on no dinner. Going to do a nice location, black tie. Very excited!!!!! :))))
Hi! We have the same date and I am already knee deep in planning. What kinds of ideas are you looking for?
@Amy43026: anything!!! : ))) we just picked this date this week. I have very few idea's.
Thinking romantic and elegant. I am thinking ddark purple for the colour, eggplant. but thats about as far as I got.
any idea's you have would be greatly appreciated!! : >
Congrats!! I'm getting married this NYE. It's such an exciting date to get married on. A couple of tips... Book early! Not only are you competing with other brides for vendors and venues but also with NYE parties. Also make sure you tell those you definitely want there about the date early so they know not to make travel plans that time of year. But it is super exciting and will be here before you know it. Good luck with everything!!
Yay, another December 2012 bride! Welcome and happy planning! :)
We are passing out new years eve hats, noise makers and things like that at 11:30, a projection screen at 11:55 will come down with a live broadcast of times square and a balloon drop at midnight.....
We are also have butler passed champagne at the entrance to our ceremony.
What ideas have you come up with?
@starcharades: Congratulations!! I will be anxiously awaiting to hear how it went!!
@MrsWilson2012: Thank you!! Very excited!! anxious to start the planning!!
@Amy43026: I love your champagne idea a lot!! So far was thinking an eveing wedding. no dinner but we want to do an open bar. put a light buffet out later in the evening.
Was thinking of having a big screen t.v in the room to watch the ball drop. was also thinking of handing out stuff around 11p.m noise makers etc. was thinking dark eggplant and silver for colours and having silver glitter on the table.
what colours are you NYE brides going with? any of you doing dinner or just an eveing ceremony?
You're not odd! FI and I had picked our wedding date before we got engaged. Let's just say, I wasn't a very patient waiting bee. And looking back, I think FI was getting excited to propose because he was the one bringing things up about our wedding around the time I think he bought the ring.
BTW I think a NYE party is a great idea!! We thought about it too, but the extra fees made it out of our budget
@yellowshoe: Thanks!! I am not a very patient bee either!! Think I keep my So very entertained!!
I just called a local vendor. Don't think they are charging us more for NYE. They are charging 130.00 a head and it includes venue, bar 6 hrs. alcohol included, staff, wine, reception food (sandwiches, platters etc) linen, centre pieces, clean up and a hotel room for us. & this is a high end venue.
It's first place I called. Do you think thats high? we have about 90 guests including kids.
I think that's a little high if you aren't doing dinner. We are having at ours at a nice hotel, we are having a five course sit down dinner, full premium bar for five hours, welcome champagne, and a late night burger bar and French fry bar, for 100 people with all taxes it is $13,000. It includes any color linens, projection screen and the presidential suite for us the night of the wedding.
The venue did not charge more for us due to it being new years eve, but lots of other people do have an extra fee, $100-$200 more.
Oh, I love your colors. Our color is black, just black. We will have all black chivari chairs with all black linens. Lots of clear glass and white candles, and all white flowers. We wanted the dinner to be very formal, it's kind of a copy of an amazing five course meal we had at this French restaurant right after we got engaged. After dinner we will turn on some dark purple uplighting to add a little color to the reception.

Are we super odd??
I haven't gotten my E-ring yet but only because he is trying to plan a super special way to propose.
However we know we are getting married and we talk talk about wedding stuff already. Not heavy duty but as things come up and we are very comfortable about it.
So anyway after reading some of your posts on here I thought a New Years eve wedding would be perfect!!
It is our second time around and I think it would be magical & a great way to start a new year.
I talked to my SO and he loves the idea. so I think our date will be Dec 31, 2012. This is a Monday.
Any suggestions you have or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!
