My husband and I go in for the anatomy scan April 2nd and are loving our names.
GIRl : Emilia Monroe (To Strive Or Excel Or Rival / From The Hill ) >> we just love it!
BOY : Elijah Theophilos (The Lord Is My God / Loving God ) >>Husband is a pastor
Byron Eugene ( From The Barns / Well Born ) >> Husband’s grandfathers name
My husband isnt sold on the Elijah’s middle name but I LOVE IT and have never heard of anybody else having it!
What do you think??

The girl’s name is beautiful!
I’m with your husband on the boy’s name – I’m not totally sold on the middle name Theophilos.
As another option (I’m mixing up your ideas), I really like the combo of Byron Elijah!

@lovebugfouts: It’s great that you and DH are basing names off of sentimental meanings and names that have significance for you and your DH. I love the names because they aren’t too common and they aren’t over the top! 🙂 Congratulations on your impending arrival! =)

I love the names, but am not sure I’d pick Elijah. It’s a great name, but it was the 13th most popular name last year.

@Mrs.KMM: I am with you! I like the names but mixing the two boy names would be really nice too! Congrats on deciding! That is so exciting.

Nice names! I would assume Theophilos was a family name, or at least that you’re Greek. I see what you’re getting at with the meaning and your husband’s job and all… but I can see why he might not love it.

I like Monroe as a middle name, A LOT! They’re all really good names. I also agree with PP though, not reallys sold on Elijah’s middle name.

I love Elijah! I’d probably go with Theodore rather than Theophilos, but I’m definitely more traditional when it comes to names. Plus then your kid shares a name with one of the coolest Presidents!

Spelled a little differently, but this is the most famous person to be called Theophilos: http://theophiluslondon.com/
Don’t know your music tastes, but I love some of his work 😉

LOVE the girls name, 🙂 what about Elijah Eugene? i’m a sucker for double Lettered names. 🙂 Who cares what was popular. If you love it go for it!

I’d prefer Elijah over Byron – the latter is a little too antiquated and outdated, at least in the US. I agree with what some of the others have suggested – Theo or Theodore is a very similar name to the middle name Theophilos. But, as it is, it’s a middle name – something most folks won’t pay attention to or care about much, so you have a lot more leeway.
