When we registered, I thought we went WAYYYYY overboard. In fact, I was a little embarrassed and removed a few items because I thought we looked a little gift-grabby. FI and I are paying for the wedding ourselves, and we are paying kind of a lot. We didn’t expect any gifts, we just wanted our friends and family to celebrate with us! We assumed we’d get a few items off the registry, but I am flabbergasted to say that 95% of the items on our registries have been purchased. Our wedding is still a month away and I can tell from the “Thank You Card manager” that it was all purchased by only about 25% of our guests. It wasn’t like one person bought everything… everyone has been equally generous and their well wishes have been so thoughtful. I am so touched by everyone’s generosity and support that I want to cry. I feel a lot of love… and a feeling we’re going to have to move. Soon. There is NO WAY all this stuff is going to fit in our condo! 🙂

Wow! I guess you’re going to have a ton of thank you notes to write! It’s so nice when friends and family do what they can to help get a couple started off together in life.

My shower was last Saturday. I received way more than I expected from 28 women, and I stuggled to put things on my registry. I expected my Aunts and cousins to be generous(that’s the way we are) but what some friends gave me was just overwhelming. We are renovating a townhome, so it included over $400 in Lowe’s cards, $200 in Bed Bath and Beyond, and we have no issue of cash here in NJ, $400 in cash. Got only a few duplicates (two Keurig’s and two of some wine assecories). I am still floored by what I got. A lot of stuff was very basic, to replace the stuff we have that is in real pathetic shape (towels, sheets, blanket,s baking pans, etc). Did not receive one thing that I did not need or could not use.
