And I am so nervous!! We haven't been looking that long, but we found a place on Sunday that was amazing. It needs renovations in the kitchen and bathrooms, but is still all in livable condition.. if we don't mind scary pepto bismol pink tiles. It's on a high floor in a nice full service building and waay bigger than other places we were looking at. Because of the renovations it was in our price range.

This is really nerve-wracking.. I was cool as a cumumber until I submitted the bid and now I'm so scared! I'm already nervous about the cost of renovations and other things going wrong.

This is such a big deal! Anyone else going through this??

Thanks everyone!! It's hard for me to say I love it because it isn't in perfect condition, but I know it's perfect and the right decision for us.. Ugh!!

We put in a bid over a week ago, but it's short sale so we're expecting to wait a while. If it takes the full 3 months the realtor said it probably would to hear back and we get it, by the time we close I'll be 8 months pregnant.... so we're really anxious to get it! We found a place that needed very little work mainly b/c since I'll be so pregnant when we move I won't be able to be much help. But since my favorite color is pink, I would love to have pepto pink tiles! I'm jealous!

    Good luck!

Good luck! And the cosmetic changes that you can make definitely cost a bit, but shouldn't matter as long as the price is right for you. You'll have a while to make the renovations, and as long as the place has potential, you'll be fine! Heck, 3 of our 4 bedrooms had some hideous wallpaper in them, but we knew the place had potential once that came down and we make it our own!

Well they said it takes about 2-3 days to get a response. And yes we are staying in the city, hooray!!

This is all so daunting.. everyone and thier mother now knows everything about my financial situation and I had to do a bio for the coop board.. wow!!

Lol I just posted on the Friday chat saying I'm still waiting :(

The seller has asked for some more information which we took as a good sign, but now we're just waiting..

Oh, the chats tend to move too quickly for me since I post and leave and come back to it, so I don't really keep up with them.

Good luck! There is a whole board here dedicated to the agony of waiting, if you need a vent! ;)

ooh, so exciting!  one word of advice...do not mention plans to do any renovations to the unit to the coop if you dont have to...even though kitchen and bath renovations are all interior, coop boards can be annoying about that kind of stuff.  no need to mention it until you are ready to start the renovations (like, not in your board interview).

Also, coop renovations in NYC can be very expensive, so you may want to keep that in mind as you budget for the kitchen and bath. I just went through this first hand if you need any advice.

But other than that, good luck! it sounds like you found a great place for a great price :)
