We made it into Real Weddings --Sacramento, courtesy of our photographer who submitted her photos. Our photographer was fantastic.
Here is the magazine . (Online exclusive--haven't seen the paper copy but it may be quite limited)
In the credits , our story is only missing one thing; artist Gayle Effron of Retro Beaux did our guestbook. It is my favorite memento of the wedding. Well--the only thing we actually kept!
Hope you like it. :)
Totally unrelated, but as long as our real names are out there; here is our video.
Congratulations. It looks like a great day and it was captured wonderfully.
Thanks! It was really fun to see what someone ELSE thought was our best photos. :P
you guys look so happy!!!
Congratulations! :) you guys are such a beautiful couple!
Those photos are amazing and you are just stunning. Where on earth did you get both pairs of those shoes? I loved how fun and playful you both are, it really came through in the pics. And who doesn't love a handsome Marine in dress blues? Congrats! That is so exciting!
LOVE the video!!! Your happiness and love shines through! One of my favorite moments when you, your Dad, your DH, and MIL are all dancing together! Cute!
Well it helps that your freaking gorgeous!
What a beautiful wedding with happy people ! I love the video, and the shots are fantastic. Your husband looks super handsome in his dress blues!
I watched the video and I think it's the sweetest video ever! I saw your face expression when you were about to walk down and it made me tear up! Congratulations! You looked gorgeous!
@AuntPatchy: Thanks!
@Ronneykay:Thanks. the whole thing actually had a million things go wrong, so I am SO GLAD that the pictures came out so well.
@EsqBailey: Aww. Thanks! That's so cute!
@tksjewelry: LOL, I know, right? AND that was the first time I ever saw him in them! Since them I saw him in them at the Marine Corps ball-first one in 4 years he wasn't deployed for. WIN!
The blue shoes were from Singapore, brand Bonia. I LOVE them. The others white) were at my mom's insistance; they're Badgley Mishkas. Can't see ever wearing them again and I only wore them for an hour--for our first dance and some toasts (wanted something to switch to so my feet could rest). They're comfy, but actually not as much my style as I thought when I got them. Oh well. I guess I could always sell them.
@melisslp: OMG> I loved that, too. MIL and DH did NOT want to do a mother son dance, so we just started the father/daughter dance and had them join in. Then, we got together with them in a circle, and then my mom and FIL and then our bridal party and siblings joined in at the very end. It was AWESME. Thank you!
@Eva Peron: Aww, thanks. My make-up artist (my MOH is a professional) really did a fantastic job! She knows film and did the makeup for one of those video gamer TV shows where the girls have INSANE eyeshadow and so she knows what foundations and all look best. It was the first time I've ever had FULL makeup done.
And I am so pleased with the video. We went *really* cheap with the video and lucked out with brand new talent!
@All In: Thank you!
@knight.keira: It was a really special moment, and I'm so glad it made it on film!
Beautiful wedding of two beautiful people. You did a fantastic job. LOVE LOVE LOVE the blue shoes!
Awesome! Your pictures are amazing and everything is really beautiful! The cake cutting with the sword was fun to watch!
Ellabee, you are glowing in these photos and every shot is nothing short of marvelous. From one bay area bee to another, your wedding was off the charts amazing. Congratulations!
@adnama LOL. That was so much fun. Actually after we cut the cake, we licked off the sword (the ceremonial swords aren't very sharp). My dad got an awesome shot of that, which I think is already on the bee. That was the first picture of the wedding I ever saw and it CRACK ME UP. Thank you.
@julies1949: Thanks so much. What color are your shoes?
@Bichon Frise: Thank you!
@mousegirl: Thanks! And you know I love your scenery wedding pics with the just the two of you. :)
@ostrich: Aww thank you! I seriously cannot recommend Megan Wilkinson Photography enough. And our second shooter was Angela Chandler--she's pretty awesome, too. Where did you get married?
@ellabee - we live in SF, but had our wedding in the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. We still need to plan our at home reception, which I can't wait for!
Wonderful!! :-) Also a native san franciscan here. Congratulations on the magazine!
@ellabee: And I still love your dress.....serious envy.....
I love your photos and that video is so sweet! You have some wonderful keepsakes that illustrate your beautiful day.
Congratulations and congrats on being in a wedding magazine!
@ostrich: NO WAY! We got married on Oahu first, too. :P
@pengoala: Thank you! And, boy do I miss SF!
@sueanddemetrius: Thanks so much! We owe it to our photographer who submitted everything for us!
you guys are such a wonderful couple! you look so happy!
I love the pic where he's cutting the cake with a sword! XD
@Mrs.Lonestar: Thank you!
@soyjoy222: Thanks! It was cappucino with marzipan frosting. And totally not the design we worked with them on! Still looked nice, but hilariously different from what my and my husband designed. :P
@ellabee - omg. We're WB soul mates!!! I'd love to see your Oahu photos too....they must be so beautiful. :)
@ostrich: We didn't take any photos when we got married, but one month later we took "engagement photos" and one of them is my avatar--Lanikai beach. :) We got married in Waikiki though (not actually on the beach).
Where did you get married?
@ellabee: Love the pic of your DH attacking the cake!! LOL! Seriously though, you two are adorable and your wedding looked fabulous. Congratulations to you both. =)
@ellabee - we said our I do's on the beach in the north shore of Oahu. :) we just got our pro pics back a month ago so our recaps will be starting soon. :). I miss Hawaii every day!
Congrats! How exciting! And you look so lovely and happy :)
@BayStateBride: :) Thank you!
@sarahbabs:Thank you!
@ostrich: I will stalk the boards for your recaps! :P
So, I just found this... I am SO IN LOVE with your video! You are so gorgeous and happy, and I LOVE the look on your husband's face as you're walking down the aisle! It's so touching to see him break that Marine demeanor!
We had a small wedding on a very tight budget , but we plan to have a more traditional vow renewal/going away party/graduation party celebration when I finish college and move to where my husband is stationed (wherever that will be, haha). Your wedding is COMPLETELY my inspiration for that!!
Aww. Thank you! Definitely message me when you are planning. :) I had fun with the Marine details.
Also... my friends thought it was going to be super tacky when I said my colors where red, blue and gold over 4th of July weekend. So easy to do a military theme without being over the top ridiculous. Only our BLUE cake was a little ridiculous (but tasty!)
