Whooo-hoooo!!
I'll be mailing ours in July and I'm SO, SO, SO looking forward to it!!
I have the same wedding date, and my mom wants me to hold off until the 24th to mail them... so I just have to get my labels finalized, then I'm stuffing them all, and they will sit there for a week, just waiting to go to the post office. She thinks people will forget about them if I give them too long to respond. I'm giving them 4 weeks.
@ella and Pom Pom-- Hello date twins! I mailed my invites out earlier than usual (at just after the 3 month mark due to a huge number of out of town guests who were big maybes). I started getting RSVPs within 2 days and am still averaging about 1-2 most days! It's like christmas morning everytime I check my mailbox!
It feels so good to send them out doesn't it?! I sent mine out on a Friday, and started receiving RSVPs the next Wednesday. People were speedier than I expected! I still get excited every day when I open the mail box.
Date twins!
There are some other June 19th brides who sent theirs out a week or two ago. We wanted them to arrive around the two month mark. But our RSVP is due a month before the wedding. I wanted time to plan and to track down missing rsvps if due. I've always heard that 6-8 weeks is when they should be sent, so you are still in that range. Most of our guests are from out of town, so they will need to know in advance anyway.
I want to hear more from bees about receiving RSVPs!!!
Thank you! YES it did feel good! Now I'm so excited to see who responds first!!
oo PomPom do you have piccies of your invites! I would love to see! Congrats on sending them out!!
We are doing online RSVPs, so a bit different, but we mailed on Saturday, got an email from FI's parents yesterday that they got theirs (they're on the same coast, though a good ways away) and got the first two RSVPs today, which was exciting (plus an obscure email from our neighbor that he loved our invitation and would be sure to respond before the deadline...huh!) Deadline's not till the end of May, though, so still a ways to go.
Interestingly, one of our first RSVPs was from the East Coast (we're on the West, and figured we should allow a week for cross-country mail), which impressed me. Go USPS!
How exciting, Oakster! We did a test mailing and my mom and I received ours the next day. So I guess it is possible that some people could get it today! If they RSVP right away, we could maybe even get an RSVP by Saturday? I'm so excited, it is distracting. I'm going to have to find a way to remain focused at work!
ccranetobe - I don't have pictures but I'll take some tonight. I worked really really hard on them! Though it was a team effort along with my mom and a designer we worked with. We definetely spent a lot on our invites, but we were careful to get everything at the best possible price which helped a LOT. I would not have had the invites I have otherwise.
I'll try to put pics up soon!
Mine are in the car waiting to be dropped off at the post office today! I am really nervous about it, it makes it much more real!
Oh Miss Britt - good luck! I felt a little nervous too, but excited as well! It was funny because I had been babying them for weeks - kept them wrapped in tissue and then in plastic so they were "protected". FI was like "What do you think is going to happen to them in the mail?!" Sure enough, when we went to mail them the postal woman was like "Help me dump them in the bin" and I had to pour them all into one of the rolling bins!! She and I were laughing because she could tell it was hard for me. She gave me a hug afterwards. It was really sweet. And probably good therapy for me - letting GO!
I'd love to hear how it goes today, Miss Britt! Good luck!
@sandiegoali - hi date twin, we're mailing ours in july as well! i can't wait! i'm ahead on the invites... my shower is in july and i had those printed about a month ago... our wedding invites should be ready this week! ahhhhh nauseating for me to hold onto them for three months!

I am SOOOO excited to start receiving RSVPs - I can't even tell you!!! I felt nervous, a little reluctant, but also excited and relieved. Months of hard work on design, crafting, assembly, research and they are out - I am in still a little in disbelief!
How soon did you start to hear back after you sent yours? SO exciting!!
