we're doing the dominican republic. Is that hurricane season down there, too? I thought it was in may/june for our location. if not, june can be hit and miss our travel agent said.
The Excellence is all-inclusive and kids free. RIGHT on the beach. Affordable in comparison to other places. We are doing 8 days, 7 nights for about 3600.....in june! prime travel time.
I am getting married on August 29th and honeymooning in Aruba at the Hotel RIU Palace Aruba All-Inclusive. We were struggling with places to travel because of hurricane season but after speaking with a travel agency this was our best bet. Some other great places to go to out of the hurricane belt are Curaco, Bonaire, Hawaii, Mediterranean, and Mexico.
Australia and the South Pacific are not in hurricane season until late November. I don't have any suggestions on all-inclusives in these places, but other bees have gone there for their honeymoons and might have some more specific recommendations than just googling "Australia all-inclusive." :)
Here's a link to some Fiji resorts: http://www.tropicalfiji.com/Resorts/index.asp. You can search by price. Hopefully, this will at least give you a starting point!
mrsdickerson - It's definately possible to find a 5-6 day honeymoon for less than $3000! We are spending right around $4000 for an all-inclusive in Aruba for 9 days. Good luck!
I had gone to the Domincan Republic last November. It was 1060.00 a person at the Bahia Resort in Punta Cana. The have a large resort with different sections which they have or have not allowed children. Right next to a beautiful beach.
We just got back from Italy and we loved it. My only complaint was that we crammed too much into too little time. Milan, Venice, florence, Amalfi and Rome in 18 days. In retrospect we would have done Venice, Florence and Rome.
So many people use Sandals but we used Couples Resorts for a vacation (was suppose to be our honeymoon, long story:) Couples is FABULOUS, All- inclusive and absolutely wonderful, I also am fairly certain it is a bit cheaper than Sandals.! We have recommended 3 different brides and grooms there and they all had the time of their life. I would have never recommended a honeymoon site if I had not felt absolutely sure it would be just as amazing as what we experienced. We felt like royalty all week and the staff is unbelieveable! Sign up for their updates and their are several times a year you can get some great discounted rates! They have several resorts in Jamaica, we did Swept Away. Check out their website www.couples.com
I promise I do not work for them we just had the time of our life and highly recommend it to EVERYONE!
We just got back from Tahiti. Stayed at the Bora Bora Four Seasons and it was amazing. We heard about Alison from Tahiti Travel Mate on this forum and she was great. We shopped around too and www.tahititravelmate.com was the best for price and service. Call Alison and tell her Baz sent you!
Hey there,
We recently returned from our Puerto Rican honeymoon (stayed at Gran Melia Resort ). It wasn't all inclusive but was a great resort. Don't let a measly hurricane get in the way of your dream honeymoon! Besides, marriage is full of hurricanes!
Best of Luck.
We just got back from Sunset at The Palms in Negril, Jamaica and I can't rave about it enough. On our first day there we were plotting when we'll go back.

Hi Hive!!! My FI and I are discussing honeymoon options - we would have LOVED to go the Sandals route but as our wedding is in October, that is peak hurricane season! Anyway, we would really like to do something all inclusive and kid-free if possible, and possibly close to the beach. Any ideas?
