I had a quick look at my music library, because I think this is an interesting set of parameters. What make an “ooey gooey love song”? One of the first songs I thought of was “Walking on Sunshine”. But is that ooey gooey?

For “church appropriate” I think of both what the song is about, and the language used. But it is affected by who is setting this standard. My friends and I are currently organising a dance party for the last night of a Christian youth camp, but a stricter denomination might not approve of our song choices. We have put careful thought into this!

A couple of others I thought of were Firework and Dancing Queen?

    @Jenlon: has quite the list!

    Do you need specifically Christian songs? Or just appropriate songs? A few that I thought of that could be fun would be ‘Move’ by MercyMe, ‘Hold Me’ by Jamie-Grace/Tobymac, ‘My Life Be Like (Ooh Aah)’ by Grits, and ‘Made to Love’ by Tobymac. Those are just a few of the more upbeat Christian songs I can think of off the top of my head.

    Check out Michael Buble or Rod Stewart doing the American Songbook.  You also can’t go wrong with Motown, maybe try the Big Chill Soundtracks.
