Pleeeease send your good thoughts for my FI and me. We need to get out of our rental asap because it’s being foreclosed on so we’re not sure how much time we have left there. I refuuuuuse to go back to living in an apartment. If anything we’d rent another house but it’s so much cheaper to buy.
Anyway, after being outbid, twice, on a house we loved we took a break for about a month. Yesterday we met up with our realtor and saw 5 houses. The last one… It was after my heart. I know I shouldn’t be so invested in it, in case we don’t get it, but holy CRAP do I want this house! More than I wanted the first house we put an offer in on!

GOOD LUCK! Fingers crossed for you. Very exciting!

I know exactly how you feel. We lost out on the first house we put a bid on. Continued to search and a few houses later I found ‘the one.’ I got attached the minute we walked in. Luckily our offer was accepted (and fast! Within the day)! I hope this happens for you so you can rest easy. I have a friend who didn’t hear back for weeks! ahh! Good luck!

@LiliKitty: Good thoughts your way! That was nerve wracking for me to make an offer and then wait. We had our realtors do everything over the phone so by the end of the night we had been in negotations and then had a counter offer accepted. Now we are less than 10 days away from closing!
We had a similar situation. We had one house we were really excited about and on our way to look at it (it had only been on the market 2 days!) Someone put an offer on it and got it. I was devesated. Then we saw this house and were actually supposed to look at it around 5:00 one night and I told my FI “No we are going to the open house at 1:00, I’m not going to have another house taken from us”. I’m glad I did because we came straight home, called our realtor, made an offer and shortly after our offer they got another offer from someone at the open house! Then after so much stuff going wrong etc I just KNEW this was my house, I knew this house was meant for my family and I was so attached and didn’t want to give up even though a few times my FI thought we weren’t going to get the house. I kept positive and everything has worked itself out (including our bank telling us we couldn’t get the loan after all because of the mileage my FI claimed on his taxes for the last 3 years. I still refused to give up and persisted until we found a loan we could get that worked for us).
Good thoughts, vibes, blessing etc all coming right at you LiliKitty!!!

@LiliKitty: Good luck!! I know the process can be extremely stressful. We bought our first home last August – the second one we put an offer on. The first one we asked for just shy of their asking price, and they ended up selling it to their friend, who I later found out even offered a lot less than us. It killed us. The house was perfect. 🙁

Fingers Crossed! We went through that last year and after being outbid it does get frustrating! It always works out when its meant to be!
