Our first FOCCUS session was tonight. FI and I scored 91% overall on the survey, so we think that’s pretty cool! The counselor facilitating the session seemed fairly nice, too, though she wasn’t happy at all that I work on Sundays and lived in rural Japan, way far away from the closest church, for two years.
The whole thing was about what I expected, I guess. I’m quite pleased with our score; it was a pleasant surprise.
Was your FOCCUS stuff what you expected, or was it totally different? If so, what was the difference?

When we took it, we didn’t know what to expect. It was interesting but the results pretty much confirmed what we knew already: that we both thought we needed to work on communication with one another. Everything else matched up pretty well. Some of the answers were interesting about wanting to have kids and expectations, oh and family influences. Wasn’t expecting that! We also didn’t match up on the questions that said “Have you had discussions on such and such…” I put yes, and Fiance put no. I considered us talking about “such and such” as discussions whereas my Fiance thought since we discussed it but hadn’t made a decision, that we didn’t have actual discussions. But for the most part, we were on target. I don’t remember what exactly our matching percentage was but it was around the 85-90% mark.

Nice job! I think our score was an 80-something. We mostly had to discuss financial things, but we agreed on the majority of stuff. Some of the questions were worded weird!

Fiance and I got a 100%. It was awesome, the priest was shocked…

Our deacon told us we were “boring” because we scored so high on most sections that there wasn’t anything to talk about in our debriefing session LOL We only had a low score on financial stuff which we told him upfront would be the case since we hadn’t really discussed how we were going to handle it at that point since the wedding was still over a year off.

We had a weekend long FOCCUS session. We had to be there saturday at 8am and the class finished at 1pm on sunday. It was more like a camp for couples and of course woman and men roomed in different houses.

My Fiance and I scored very high on the FOCCUS test. We both thought it was super easy. None of the questions brought up any topics we hadn’t disscused together. Our FOCCUS couple told us they’ve had two couples that chose not to get married based on the exam. How sad! There were no shocking topics at all on it. We had fun with it!
