After an agonising month wait.... we settle tomorrow!

I honestly can not wait!!! Although there is a stupid rule here that the current owners have until midday the day after settlement to move out!!! ARGHHHH We just want to get in and be able to start the networking of the house and painting!

Anyone else as anxious to move as I am?

@relaxedabout it:  Yeah it is strange! They would have had the money for 24 hours before we get the keys!

Yayyyyy!! It's SO exciting, isn't it? I didn't sleep the night before we closed. I had been driving by quite often in the week leading up to closing, and saw when the moving van was there to move the previous owners out. It felt so real after that! Congrats!!

@crayfish:  I wish we could do that but the house is a good hour away from where we live now so its a bit of a pain.

BUT that didnt stop me having a friend pop by this weekend apparently they were moving out! EEP!!!

Ill just be happy the day we get into it and all their crap gets out of it! Honestly it was sooooo messy but stuff just EVERY where!! This is a pict of a few of the rooms that I managed to get in our final walk through

Yay for settlement! Such an exciting time...when we bought our house we ended up settling on Christmas Eve! We parked the truck and moved in on Boxing Day. GL! :)

Our sellers took TWO EXTRA DAYS to get out of the house even though they were supposed to hand over ownership at signing.  We didn't rush them because we wanted to make sure they did some GD cleaning...  It sucked.

You're so lucky. We're still searching. We've seen about 18 or 19 houses. We are running out of time cuz our current lease is up in May. I'm getting worried :-(

The build-up to closing is so exciting! We would do random drive-bys of our house during the waiting time. The weekend before closing we drove by and the driveway had 2 huge moving trucks in it. I had been holding back the emotion the entire time, staying all calm and cool and detached. But in that moment, seeing those moving trucks, I cried tears of joy. After 18 months, we were really in the home stretch and I finally let myself believe that the house would truly be ours.

Well we got the keys yesterday afternoon :D the house was cleanish but they left all the stuff in the shed and a bird in its cage!!!

They were meant to be picking it up today but well see when we go down there in about an hour.

@lisha_1988:  Yay! Congrats, I hope everything went smoothly. Worst case scenario you get a new addition to the family (the birdy)--your 1st house warming gift!

@Rubbs:  You sound just like me. We have been looking since Sept. Made offers on approx 5 homes. Got accepted to 1--then backed out because the inspection was too concerning for us.

Our lease ends in June and I'm in panic mode--it seemed liek just yesterday we had months to spare--but with the rapid increase in property costs and low inventory its crucn time! I wish you the best of luck with your search--I'm sure you will find something soon!

@BreezyBride24:  Thank you! I spoke to my realtor before & he's taking us to see more this weekend. I'm getting ready for the "Um, mom, ya mind if we crash here for a few months!" Lol.

    @BreezyBride24:

@pfinarffle:  Im actually VERY afraid of birds! Petrified would be a better word for it... thankfully they took it now! We spent most of last night putting together a new set of ikea drawers lol. And we move in on Sat :D

@Rubbs:  I hope you find something soon!!! We were very lucky to find what we did when we did, all of the other houses on the street are a min of $20k more than this house because of the amount of work needing to be done (not a lot just cosmetic) Something will come up when its meant to be :)
